Loved the narration. I felt like I really got to know an intelligent woman who truly stands up for the least of us. And for equal opportunity for all. She’s also funny and someone I’d love to have lunch with!

I was amazed at how open Matthew Perry was about his foibles, missteps and mistakes throughout his life. Listening to him read it was amazing, like listening to your friend Matty. So genuine, funny, honest.

It was so interesting to learn how Chandler came to be, his life as a fledgling actor, and to hear about Friends behind the scenes. It was sad to hear how profoundly sad Matthew was as a child, and his self sabotage as an adult.

He makes you laugh throughout the book, thank goodness, because it’s a heavy story. There are times you just can’t believe what’s happening. You feel like you’re there, frustrated, worried, and hoping this time was the last bad time.

He didn’t end the book telling you he’d figured it all out, giving advice or patting himself on the back. It was one of the most honest and loving endings of an auto-biography I’ve ever read. Especially poignant given his death just a short time later. You finish the book feeling like you really knew him.

If her life has been as she’s described it, I can understand why Britney Spears has had such difficulty coping with life. We’ve heard stories before of child actors and singers being exploited for money. Like Judy Garland, Britney was forced to stay on a mentally and physically exhausting treadmill.

I liked this book much more than I thought I would. Michelle Williams did a remarkable job reading in Britney’s voice, it was hard to stop listening. The story is well-written and more than just plausible. I gained more empathy and respect for Britney Spears having read it.

Cassidy Hutchinson‘s story is unbelievable, but SHE is so believable.

This book moved at a perfect pace. From start to finish it was interesting and moving; shocking and inspiring.

At first when she talked about her childhood, I thought, oh, I don’t want to hear this part. But understanding her beginnings —a difficult family life with an emotionally cruel father—sheds light on how she became such a wise, brave young woman at only age 23.

She came to DC as a passionate political science graduate who wanted to serve her country, and believed in many of the things the Trump administration was trying to do for the country. Even after Jan 6 she didn’t want to say anything that could hurt her colleagues. Summoning the courage to do the right thing and tell the truth was hard at first — until she realized the people she’d been so loyal to in Trump world were using her as a pawn and did not have her best interests in mind.

Cassidy’s narration is fantastic. I loved this book, can’t recommend it enough!

I felt he was very genuine and believable. Loved hearing his voice tell the story. I’m sure he did have a ghostwriter to help him,but who cares, they all do. I’m just glad this was HIS story not Meaghan’s. Most of the book focuses on his life before her. Well done Harry.

Narrator was perfect for the story, did nice job changing up her voice in subtle way as Rose Kennedy. Devastating to realize how misunderstood Rosemary was, how wrongly labeled she was, and just how much keeping up with appearances in elite circles ruled in her father’s decisions about her welfare, Great read if you’re interested in the history of mental and intellectual disabilities treatment and social impact in this country.

I enjoyed this book so much, largely because I grew up in Northern Virginia/DC, and I remember so many of the places and events in history Bernstein talks about. My mom subscribed to The Washington Star, and as a little girl I loved reading the front page and dreaming of becoming a reporter there some day. By the time I got to a newsroom the Star was gone, but I loved being in that environment, learning from wise old editors from The Post and The Star, feeling like I was doing something important. So reading Bernstein’s account of his early days, chasing history, and recalling a time when newspapers thrived was so much fun.

I loved how his writing makes you feel you were right there with him in DC, sharing details and events in of the different places like Silver Spring, NW DC, Georgetown, Anacostia, and the history he witnessed and reported on that was part of the local and national narrative.

It was also very fun to learn more about Bernstein’s beginning at age 16 when he started skipping school to be at the paper, flunked out of University, dictated copy for big shots in news, and reported on some of the most important stories of our time…well before Watergate. Fun listen. The only thing I missed was hearing Bernstein narrate it himself. Although he does make a cameo in the Epilogue.

I was so shocked to learn how much Boeing has sacrificed quality and safety for profit. I knew it was bad but when you listen to this book, you realize it is way worse than you could imagine. This is exactly why airlines and manufacturers should not be given the freedom to self-regulate. They cannot be trusted to put the public’s well-being first.

The story is incredible, but I felt the narration was a little stiff and it distracted me. I also wish they’d integrated real sound bites into the recording from some of the press conferences, interviews etc. that could have brought it more to life. Overall I am glad I listened to it though.

Thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him, his creative process and hearing his music. I had no idea what he was like outside his Pearl Jam persona. I found him to be a smart and very interesting guy. I’m not even a huge Pearl Jam fan, but I really liked this. Just the right length. Left me hoping he does another one!

I thoroughly enjoyed this account of the amazing you g people behind March for Our Lives. The only thing that could’ve made it better is if actual audio recordings of some of the speeches could’ve been included. For example to hear a clip of Emma Gonzalez’ transformative speech when she declared, “we call BS.” And maybe a few of the clips from the stage in Washington the day of the March, for example David Hogg, or Cameron Kasky, when he said, “welcome to the revolution.” The narrator was really really good. Although, I think I would’ve really liked to have heard Dave Cullen do it. He has a good voice. Anyway, thank you for a great listen.
