Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

narrator will drive you insane. good story though
Revisado: 09-28-17
by the end of the book you'll want to repeat everything he's saying and re assign characters voices so they sound fitting. also any time a character gets hit or out of breath the narrator... pauses.... and speaks laboriously... as If... he's dying... makes me want to throw my phone across the room. bummer nobody else narrates this series I don't think I can sit through another book let alone the rest of the series with all the charterers sounding roughly the same, 95 years old, emphysemic, piratey, or in the case of Sam just not what they should sound like. really frustrating to listen to... so so bad.

Historia
Sarah Bird authors brilliant, introspective novels of bittersweet reminiscence tempered with humor. The Yokota Officers Club is a tale both courageous and touching--a journey of the heart that speaks volumes of the transient, isolated lifestyle of military families. Having grown up at the Yokota Air Base in Japan, and having moved six times in the last eight years, Bernadette "Bernie" Root and her five siblings are quintessential military brats.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Good story, so so narrator bearable on 1.5 speed
Revisado: 09-23-16
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Seed?
Dharma the dog. Love the author's perspective on dogs and their reason for existing.
Did Erik Synnestvedt do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Narrator does a great job differentiating characters. Qualms I had about his voice were his inflection at the end of sentences, very strange inflection almost like up-talk, but with sports-caster deep-voice. Can't describe it better than that, very tough to listen to at regular speed, at 1.5 it wasn't quite as noticeable/irritating but it still made my skin crawl sometimes.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
happiness comes from within not without.
Any additional comments?
Really awesome book, narrator has good character voices, I just wish there wasn't that odd inflection at the end of every sentence... it made my skin crawl.

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.

worth a listen once. i really like the narrator from gone with the wind that's why i grabbed this one. story is ok but very predictable and then ends abruptly with no real feeling of resolution because there was never any tension because you know how it's going to end...
