Historia
‘Culture Apothecary with Alex Clark’ is a health and wellness podcast where each guest provides their own remedy to heal a sick culture - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Apothecaries were the place where people would go for natural remedies, and Alex is restoring this concept by inviting expert guests every Monday and Thursday night at 6pm PST/9pm EST to share raw, unpasteurized truths! But that's not all...the last Monday of EVERY month will be a special solo episode with Alex called ‘Lobotomy Hour,’ where Alex gives unhinged and unapologetic rants, life updates, hot takes ...

The Most Practical & Educational Podcast EVER!!!!!
Revisado: 12-20-24
I love everything about Culture Apothecary, from Alex's fashion choices 😂🤌🏻 to the topics, to the questions she asks...! I have learned SO MUCH from listening to all of Alex's interviews. I was teetering on the edge of crunchy but her interviews have pushed me over the edge, down the deep dark rabbit hole and I am becoming crunchier by the day, much to my husband's and kids' chargrin 😂 please keep the amazing interviews coming!

Historia
The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

Excellent analysis of trends
Revisado: 01-18-23
Classic Gladwell. Loved the book and the interweaved stories validating the premise. Actionable intel for business, particularly in the last two chapters. I would like an internet era update to this book. 2020s+. Gladwell’s narration style is a little monotone. Otherwise excellent.

Historia
In The American Puritans, Dustin Benge and Nate Pickowicz tell the story of the first hundred years of Reformed Protestantism in New England through the lives of nine key figures: William Bradford, John Winthrop, John Cotton, Thomas Hooker, Thomas Shepard, Anne Bradstreet, John Eliot, Samuel Willard, and Cotton Mather. Here is sympathetic yet informed history, a book that corrects many myths and half-truths told about the American Puritans while inspiring a current generation of Christians to let their light shine before men.

Excellent popular primer on the Puritans
Revisado: 03-19-22
Enjoyed both the content and delivery. Having been raised on Puritan literature, it was refreshing, inspiring and challenging to be taught the life of some prominent American Puritans. The sketches are balanced, rounded and comprehensive. My only critique is that a little more rigorous editing could have been done to reduce some minor repetition between events of chapters. As another reviewer pointed out: this is likely due to these chapters being originally individual addresses.

It is AD 312. Rome teeters on the brink of war. Constantine's army is on the move. On the Rhine frontier, Brandulf Rex, a pagan Germanic barbarian, joins the Roman army as a spy and special-forces operative. Fan of Chiveis? You’ll love this
Revisado: 06-13-21
As a fan of Bryan Litfin’s Chiveis trilogy, I was looking forward to his next publication. Weaving a rich understanding of ancient church history and an engaging, imaginative and classically good-vs-evil storyline, Litfin does not disappoint.

Historia
McCullough's John Adams has the sweep and vitality of a great novel. This is history on a grand scale, an audiobook about politics, war, and social issues, but also about human nature, love, religious faith, virtue, ambition, friendship, and betrayal, and the far-reaching consequences of noble ideas. Above all, it is an enthralling, often surprising story of one of the most important and fascinating Americans who ever lived.

Inspired a love of biography in me!
Revisado: 11-26-19
This is my first taste of David McCullough and will certainly not be my last. Excellent, comprehensive, engaging, honest and riveting are just a few of the words I would give this book. The narration was done excellently. The accent, pace and intonation was a perfect fit. The story at times became tedious with political detail, but perseverance paid great dividends and I enjoyed many a long walk with my companion John Adams.

Historia
Taking a phrase from Matthew 12:20, Sibbes explains what it means to be a "bruised reed". It is a metaphor that exemplifies the way in which God humbles sinners by allowing them to see sin in the way that he sees it - the lesson being that God sometimes wounds before healing but with the ultimate goal of deepening our love for Christ.

Historia
In its early years, Duluth was a gold mine for lumber barons. Men were employed as lumberjacks and worked like beasts, only to be tossed aside like used equipment when no longer needed. The grand forests were raped for their prime timber, the balance burned wastefully. The men were coarse and hard, but they had to be to survive. More than any other people that ever lived in our land, these old-time lumberjacks could truthfully say, "No man cared for my soul." That is, until God sent three men to the great Northwoods of our country - Frank Higgins, John Sornberger, and Al Channer.

Penetrating insight into Christianity in the Northwoods
Revisado: 04-19-19
This was my first acquaintance with the evangelism and characters of the American Northwoods. Initially, I was frustrated with the lengthy exposé of the wicked lives of the first two evangelists. The backdrop of their lives, however, made for a beautiful setting and insight into the conversion, lives and ministries of those men. The history, storytelling and work of God among the lumberjacks was well polished and most astounding. An excellent and edifying read.
