Historia
Attorney Nate Shepherd doesn’t want to take on an attempted murder case. But when people he trusts ask him to get involved, Nate agrees to represent the hard-working farmer who’s been accused of trying to kill his brother’s fiancée. By the time Nate steps in, law enforcement has already gathered a mass of evidence to bury his client. With the help of a diligent associate, a dogged investigator, and a dangerous bail bondsman, Nate unearths a web of money and motives that only raises more questions.

A little slow at first, but WOW!
Revisado: 02-24-23
I felt this started a little slow, but I was addicted half way through. I liked the legal arguments, the dialogue and the story. A great read!

Historia
Israel. The small strip of arid land is 5,700 miles away but remains a hot-button issue and a thorny topic of debate. But while everyone seems to have a strong opinion about Israel, how many people actually know the facts? Here to fill in the information gap is Israeli American Noa Tishby.

I learned alot!
Revisado: 01-21-23
We visited Israel in July 2022. We loved it. I must admit, though, that I didn’t know too much about Israel’s history. When I mentioned to a friend that she should visit Israel, she bluntly told me that she wouldn’t go there because Israel had stolen land from the Palestinians. I wanted to learn more. I have since watched several documentaries about the formation of Israel in 1948. While this book is written from the viewpoint of an Israeli Jew, I found it to be filled with facts refuting my friend’s misplaced liberal nonsense. The author documents her facts and is an engaging storyteller.

Historia
When Norm Macdonald, one of the greatest stand-up comics of all time, was approached to write a celebrity memoir, he flatly refused, calling the genre “one step below instruction manuals.” Norm then promptly took a two-year hiatus from stand-up comedy to live on a farm in northern Canada. When he emerged he had under his arm a manuscript, a genre-smashing book about comedy, tragedy, love, loss, war, and redemption. When asked if this was the celebrity memoir, Norm replied, “Call it anything you damn like.”

A Little Strange
Revisado: 09-02-22
I loved Norm McDonald and was sad when he passed. There are parts of this book that made me laugh out loud; but there are parts that are bizarre and not funny. I believe that he truly was a comic genius but at times was a little cray-cray.
