Historia
No one remembers how the Divide was created. The miles-deep and miles-wide chasm has existed for hundreds of years, protecting what remains of humanity from the Golyat: a creature whose shadow moves across the horizon at sunset.

Narration couldn’t keep voices consistent
Revisado: 03-19-21
This was the first book by Jeremy Robinson that I’ve read. I felt like the characters weren’t very well developed and I found the plot thin and cliche.

Historia
Social scientist Brené Brown has ignited a global conversation on courage, vulnerability, shame, and worthiness. Her pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability—the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome—is the only path to more love, belonging, creativity, and joy. But living a brave life is not always easy: We are, inevitably, going to stumble and fall.

Powerful and impactful
Revisado: 07-29-16
This is a book with universal application. I can't think of anyone who would not benefit from reading it. Being a TX girl myself- I especially enjoyed the slang and the colloquialisms. I'm in the middle of a fight for my marriage and this definitely gave me the inspiration and the courage to keep going.

Historia
A mesmerizing, moving, and elegantly written debut novel, The Language of Flowers beautifully weaves past and present, creating a vivid portrait of an unforgettable woman whose gift for flowers helps her change the lives of others even as she struggles to overcome her own troubled past. The Victorian language of flowers was used to convey romantic expressions: honeysuckle for devotion, asters for patience, and red roses for love. But for Victoria Jones, it's been more useful in communicating grief, mistrust, and solitude.

Wish everyone would read!

This story rings true on many levels- gut-wrenching for sure and so worth the purchase. This was recommended to me by a friend and I have already recommended to others. It shows rather than tells problems we have with our existing system in a non-condemning but quite compelling way.

When former investigative reporter Rick Hoffman loses his job, fiancée, and apartment, his only option is to move back into - and renovate - the home of his miserable youth, now empty and in decay since the stroke that put his father in a nursing home. As Rick starts to pull apart the old house, he makes an electrifying discovery - millions of dollars hidden in the walls. It’s enough money to completely transform Rick’s life - and everything he thought he knew about his father.

A fairly good novel, clearly not a "thriller"

Ok-not great
Revisado: 06-28-15
The storyline was creative, but filled with overused phrases and proved too predictable. The narration was a bit too stiff and sounded read rather than performed. Overall, not terrible but definitely has room for improvement.
