Historia
A terrorist bomb explodes during a South Korean celebration of the anniversary of the election of its first president. Alarms are raised in Washington. No one is claiming responsibility. The first suspect is North Korea. Could it be making a power play against South Korea and unification? If so, how will the U.S. respond? Paul Hood, Director of the Op-Center, must answer these questions. The Op-Center, a largely autonomous new agency which takes on the government's toughest security problems, is only six months old, and has never been given a foreign crisis until now.

Clancy strikes again!
Revisado: 12-26-23
This was a really good story that was well told. Like all Clancy novels it was filled with the details regarding the inner workings of the military. One reviewer said Michael Kramer was monotone. I don’t think they listened to the same book! Anytime a narrator has multiple characters from different countries, it is extremely difficult to distinguish them. Mr. Kramer does a nice Korean accent without making it over the top.
Paul Hood is not Jack Ryan. If you are looking for another Jack Ryan novel, this is not it. However if you want a really good political thriller that could actually happen, this is it! Enough said.

Historia
The Battle of Serenity Valley was the turning point that led the Independents to their defeat at the hands of the Alliance. Yet the Browncoats had held the valley for weeks against all odds, before being ordered to lay down their arms. Command stated they refused to send in airpower because the ground war was "too hot". But the soldiers who were there insist that was not true.... While picking up a new cargo on Persephone, Captain Malcolm Reynolds is kidnapped by a bunch of embittered veteran Browncoats who suspect him of sabotaging the Independents during the war.

Firefly fans will enjoy this!
Revisado: 06-25-23
Without giving away spoilers, I think most Firefly fans will enjoy this. For the most part, the characters are dead on. Zoe, Wash, Kaylie, Jane, and Shepherd Book all seem perfect.
The really cool thing about this book is the back story on Malcolm Reynolds. As a die hard Firefly fan, I was intrigued to find out what made Malcolm Reynolds the man we see on Serenity. This book answers some of his questions about his mysterious past. We learn much more about Shepherd Book’s history too. It left me wanting more!!!
I thought FOX was shortsighted when they canceled Firefly so quickly. It was and still is the coolest thing Joss Whedon ever came up with! I LOVE it that there are more ways to get to know this family of misfits. I am ready for another Firefly adventure!

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

Better than some Grisham—it has an ending
Revisado: 07-21-20
I had high hopes for this Grisham Novel. I think his first “A Time to Kill” is still the best thing he has written. This novel has the same lawyer and is set in the same place. It is still lacking. It is an adequate novel, but nothing special.
Grisham has several opportunities to excel, but prefers to play it safe and this is the offspring. Try to stay awake.
