Solid story, decent performance

Good engaging story, excellent character development, fun overall. Just didn't love the author's performance. I get and respect that he self publishes, and I guess doing the reading himself fits that ethos. But I've listened to books on Audible really enhanced by a professional actors reading, and felt this book could have used that.

Best Trilogy Ever

Would you listen to Red Rising again? Why?
While I LOVED the trilogy. the first book is probably the best. The depth that Mr. Brown gets you to know and feel for the characters is top notch. I can't begin to believe that anyone would listen to/read this book and not follow the full series. Absolutely zero pause until the end of the book. Just fantastic, cannot recommend higher.

Flawed, but enjoyable last half

Solid performance, decent storytelling, but the suspension of disbelief asked for was just too much. The coincidences that propel the first half were just too contrived. Suffers from a James Bond fault - villains as ruthless as these are supposed to be would have killed Reacher early at one of many opportunities. Despite that, I enjoyed last half, especially the last quarter, more than expected. Half way through, I had decided I was done with the series. Last quarter has me thinking that if I find other at sale price, I might bite.
