Historia
To the costermongers of Covent Garden Eddie Pettit was a gentle soul with a gift for working with horses. When Eddie is killed in a violent accident, the grieving costers are skeptical about the cause of his death. Who would want to kill Eddie - and why? Maisie Dobbs' father, Frankie, had been a costermonger, so she had known the men since childhood. She remembers Eddie fondly and is determined to offer her help. But it soon becomes clear that powerful political and financial forces are equally determined to prevent her from learning the truth behind Eddie's death.

Encouragement for the Soul
Revisado: 08-31-24
The candor and humility with which this book was written only underscored the message of seeking hard after a soul devoted to Christ. This is one of those books that you could return to like a wise friend. A worthy listen/read to remind us of our heritage as children of God and how each day is an opportunity to live in the richness and fellowship of our Savior.

Aliesha and Mukesh are unlikely main characters. Sara Nisha Adams does a remarkable job weaving their lives together to create a heartwarming story of loss and resilience. All of this is centered around books and family. What is not to love.

Interesting Twist for Murder Mystery
Revisado: 02-22-23
First, the appeal for this book is the narrator. I actually stumbled on this book by looking up her narrated books in this genre.
I enjoyed the book. Somewhat predictable, but quick quips and snarky dialogue deliver so well by Amanda R made this book a fun read. Heading for book 2.

Historia
"When Poppy Wainwright's grandmother dies, she travels from her home in Arkansas to live with her grandmother's older sister, Sookie, in Savannah, Georgia. 'Your Grandma Lainey was a self-righteous nit-wit,' Sookie tells Poppy upon their first meeting, 'and if I had the gumption, I'd drive myself up to Mountain Home and spit on her freshly dug grave.' Sookie is everything Poppy's grandmother was not: atheistic, slovenly, suspicious, prone to vendettas, and completely lacking any verbal filter." (Kirkus Reviews)
