Good Introduction to the Battletech Universe

I was introduced to Battletech mainly through the video games, and am a relatively new fan. I was expecting top notch storytelling when I picked up this book, but was pleasantly surprised when I became fully engaged with the intense moment to moment of this book. It does a good job keeping you invested as the characters never feel like they are in the upswing against the odds until the very end.
