The master story teller’s best. I’ve read them all . I grew up next to Zane Grey Altadena home and read much of his work while stationed in the Artic.

Joyce Meyer of all people taught me the essential basic for living a Christian life - listen to the Holy Spirit, who resides with every person who publicly accepts Jesus Christ as the Lord of their life. Yet, how many Christians have you met who convince you they have heard, let alone followed the Holy Spirit's teachings, which are with us 24/7?

I used to turn Joyce off whenever I saw or heard her. Now I won't. She is right on, teaching what you seldom hear from the pulpit, The Holy Spirit, which is basis for a Christian Life.

RC Sproul can be long-winded, or inspired and to the point. But he is usually right. True to the Word of God. This might be his best, casting light amongst the shadows, revealing truth you thought you knew, but maybe didn't. Try it. You proabably need to.

This is not a fun read. Depressing, as all important experiences often are. An easy, quick read you need in your background, to understand the news and where we may be going. Has little to do with animals, except they have our emotional backing.

I thought I read all of Steinbeck's works, and loved them the first, second and third time. Then I stumbled on The Wayward Bus. What a blessing. Not the Grapes of Wrath, but then nothing is. But such rich characters, carefully built, one layer at a time. And timely! Immigrants all, from one layer of society into another, by accident. None of them would choose to be on that bus, the only thing they share in common is a desire to be off the bus and on their way to another more welcoming place.
Steinbeck is the classic observer, none better since Dickens. A rare, rare author writing about others, unlike the current crop who only write about themselves, or invent other worlds they would rather live in. A ride on this bus in the California rain might do them good before they write again.
All aboard. Hop in.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

no, the narrator ruins it. bad voices, wishes he was tom taylorson.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of William Dufris?

Tom Taylorson, he IS the voice of Gunther and Co.

Leave it Lay.

Fat Ollie was a great minor character, but never grew in this novel about him. The recording is so bad, I threw the CD's away, assuming my car radio was skipping around. It wasn't. That's the way it was written, or recorded, skipping from one scene to another without any reason and so often I cound't tell you now what happened, or who it happened to. Death accompanies all murder mystery, but this novel died before it got to paper. Leave it lay.
