Another Solid Entry of Gre7g's!

I was excited to listen to more of the Hayven Celestia universe. Piers Ryman delivers yet another amazing narrative performance, honing in on each character's voice. I also respected the adult scenes contributing to the plot, as well as exploring Jungo's thoughts during them. It makes these scenes more relateable, and at times comedic.

My only concern was wondering where the plot was leading by the midway point of the story, but Gre7g shifts the plot back into gear by the third act, propelling us toward an ending I hadn't anticipated. Without spoiling it, it makes me all the more curious what more tales could be sprung from this universe.

If anthros and science fiction are your thing laced with adult content that contributes to the story, I would recommend this story!

Fantastic Conclusion to the Trilogy!

Revisado: 01-08-22

One of the things I enjoyed about this trilogy is while all three books build off one another, they work so well as individual stories. Fair Trade especially works as its own tale, being massive in scale compared to its two predecessors. There is a lot of content as far as story and characters, and it is appropriately paced. I was never left feeling disinterested. My only concern lies with one or two minor plot points that were left vague or unaddressed, but I feel they don't take away from the main plot.

If you are a fan of talking animal people and (high) science fiction, I would definitely recommend this book and any of the books associated with this trilogy and universe. It is a blast.

Kanti's Story Takes a New Direction

Revisado: 12-16-21

Finishing the first in the series, "Skeleton Crew," I was wondering where Gre7g could take Kanti's story next. "Small World" continues the first book's twisting of fate for the titular geroo, this time with dozens of others. The cast is thrust into an alien environment where precautions must be satisfied if they are to survive. They're technological background serves as both a crutch and a burden in their new lives, with access to information and resources limited. As time carries on, we begin to see the transformation of a society. Where it may be headed is a mystery I'm anxious to explore in the third book.

Like "Skeleton Crew" and the "White Flower II" series by Rick Griffin (also part of the same continuity), Piers Ryman delivers an excellent narrative performance, giving each character their own voice. Gre7g's writing style is engaging, and the pacing adjusting as needed. Exposition is neither vague nor drawn-out; it is written to provide you with the necessary information at a given time.

My only two concerns. 1) I was hoping Sarsuk would play a bigger role, with his close proximity to the cast. However, it is a minor issue being as the story is more about the geroo and less of the krakun.

2) A couple of chapter titles near the end of the story felt more like placeholders, those being of names of certain characters. I say this being as these two characters are introduced early in the book and have significant focus on them in multiple chapters. So I was a little confused why THESE two chapters used their names. To be fair, it never deterred my interest in the story, and it feels to be less of a concern compared to the previous book.

Apart from the two minor criticisms, I enjoyed the story throughout and never once felt disinterested. Happy to five-star this and look forward to "Fair Trade." ;)

There are narrators who read the text. They're narrators who mix their voice up for the various characters. Then there are narrators who mix their voice up and use special effects. Characters talking through phones sounded as such, as well as through helmets and microphones. Little things like that made listening to this story fun.

Not really one to read romance, but being as it was also a thriller, I decided to give it a shot. I can say I wasn't disappointed. my only real concern is the narrator's lack of variety in voices, but it's not bad enough to warrant giving up. The story is filled with many twists that kind of got confusing at times, but isn't predictable.

This is the twin novel to Desperation. The story shares elements from it, but does its own thing. The narrator is great with emotion, and it helps that, coupled with King's up-in-your-face style of writing, helps keep the story exciting. The peaceful opening quickly de-escalates into suspense, which carries through the rest of the story.

Desperation offers more time to get to know these characters, but The Regulators doesn't drag out longer than necessary.
