Historia
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

A fun read!
Revisado: 05-28-20
This book starts with a very young woman and at first almost feels like a book for a younger more naive audience, but it gets better and better as it gains momentum. The main character, the 20 year old unlikely inn keeper is a fun loving happy go lucky girl who had it all back on earth and finds herself suddenly in a new very alien and violent world with real Monsters and many Alien races like Drakes lizard people and wolf people. She has to learn not only how to survive this new life with no food or money but how to deal with casual and real violence and death for the first time in her life.
Her personality makes the unlikeliest friends out of all sorts of people very different from one another.
Then there is the side story with another young woman who ended up on this new world from planet earth too seemingly at around the same time. But she is very opposite.
The two never meet even though they cross paths constantly. The end has a nice cliffhanger and makes you ready for the next book in the series. Fun read! If you like fantasy fiction with a few walking dead thrown in here and there you will enjoy this book.

Still waiting for the final book...
Revisado: 11-14-17
Love this series. Just re read/listened to entire series for the second time. The author and the actor reading the book combine for a lovely time listening. I’ve tried to watch the TV series and can’t feel it or see it as well as when I hear it read by Davina Porter. Happy listening. I hear the final book will release soon. Fingers crossed!

Historia
My name is Kvothe. You may have heard of me. So begins a tale told from his own point of view - a story unequaled in fantasy literature. Now in The Wise Man’s Fear, Day Two of The Kingkiller Chronicle, Kvothe takes his first steps on the path of the hero and learns how difficult life can be when a man becomes a legend in his own time.

Brilliant has it all
Revisado: 04-30-17
Ive read this twice and enjoyed it both times just as much. It has a bit of everything and a nice mix. Action fights, romance, magic, cool ancient faeries and more. It isn't the fantasy that makes this story great. The character kvothe and his humanness in parallel to his bigger than a hero reputation.
Ive just read that P Rothfuss got a TV series deal with Lionsgate. I think it is well deserved and I hope they don't butcher his fantastic artistry and can just turn the pages into reality. Also looking forward to the final edition of the series.

Historia
In this Hugo-winner from Connie Willis, when too many jumps back to 1940 leave 21st century Oxford history student Ned Henry exhausted, a relaxing trip to Victorian England seems the perfect solution. But complexities like recalcitrant rowboats, missing cats, and love at first sight make Ned's holiday anything but restful - to say nothing of the way hideous pieces of Victorian art can jeopardize the entire course of history.

A very enjoyable audible book. Loved the characters. The reader does a good job with voices.

Epic
Revisado: 06-13-15
This is my second time reading/listening. I read it and all the books available the first time @ 2009 before the HBO series came out.
Now I've seen the series up to date and decided to re read the books. I usually can not re read/listen to books because I get bored but this series has so many interesting characters so many fantastic twists with mysteries human intrigue, magic, dragons, Giants, it just doesn't get old. I don't know how GRR Martin did it. I'm in awe of his story weaving skills and looking forward to the next book AND the next episode! Thx

Peter Hamilton starts another great series
Revisado: 05-14-15
mixing things up with characters we know gives this new series a familiar starting point. I suggest to anyone about to download this book that you should read his last series, the Void Trilogy, first. It isn't absolutely necessary but it will give you more info about the common wealth and will enrich your experience reading this book.

Only a select few have earned the right to call Gil friend. One is Egar, the Dragonbane, a fierce Majak fighter who comes to respect a heart as savage and loyal as his own. Great story but almost too artistically written
Revisado: 04-29-15
Love the characters and the story line, the references to the downfall of a whole society being caused in part by religious fanaticism is fitting for our current world politics. My only complaint is sometimes the story got hard to follow. But maybe it deserves a re-listen.
