Great but very chaotic.
Revisado: 06-16-24
The “siege” chapters were difficult to follow. Too many directions at a time. Kept having to put the book away for a while. Hopefully it gets back to previous styles, or an easier to follow along written story. It was great, but too chaotic.

Historia
Just as Fred is settling down in his new abode, he receives word that a favor is being called in, one he promised to a dangerously powerful member of otherworldly royalty. Bracing danger, adventure, and unknown threats, Fred is instead asked to take on an entirely different role than anticipated. Acting as interim professor at one of the few universities for supernatural entities, Fred will have to navigate a strange environment, eccentric coworkers, and unenthusiastic students. Yet that alone won't be enough, for this college has more history than the tales in its tomes.

Fun but for future use rather than a full story here.
Revisado: 05-09-23
Fun addition to the storyline. Definitely felt like filler fluff meant to add only a few tiny bits to focus on in later books, without sounding too obvious. Will be interesting to see how they develop from here.

Historia
Once there was a young woman from a well-to-do New England family who never quite fit with the drawing rooms and parlors of her kin. Called instead to the tangled woods and wild cliffs surrounding her family’s estate, Margaret Harlowe grew both stranger and more beautiful as she cultivated her uncanny power. Soon, whispers of “witch” dogged her footsteps, and Margaret’s power began to wind itself with the tendrils of something darker.

Enjoyed the book
Revisado: 03-15-23
Requiring written reviews is stupid for those that aren’t eloquent or have trouble not ruining a story.
I wish audible would have allowed people to just put their thoughts without requiring words because now there significantly less rating to look at. The quality of the reviews are also significant diminished by those who can’t write better reviews or are trying to just put the minimums. This will now be my default copy and paste review.
To the authors, sorry that audible is diminishing your accomplishments, because I am unable to give you the glowing review you deserve or even a great rating due to this policy change.

Complementary addition to the world
Revisado: 12-20-22
Good addition and completion of a side arc to the Guild Codex world. No unnecessary continuation but plenty to reference for the other main and side arc storylines. Left plenty of room for future use while also feeling like a satisfying ending if nothing ever happens again.

Book was good but technical issues destroyed almost all enjoyment.
Revisado: 05-13-21
Either Audible app or the book is broken, multiple downloads to correct errors and playback issues. Called customer service and was told to just delete everything and wait at least three days before trying again. Don’t bother starting unless you have a computer in front of you!

Historia
After discovering just how filled with magic, intrigue, and adventure the parahuman world of being an undead American can be, Fredrick Frankford Fletcher did exactly what was expected - he became a certified parahuman accountant. Myths and legends, as it turns out, are not so great at taking appropriate deductions and keeping their receipts, and Fred is more than happy to return to a life others view as woefully dull, expanding his accounting business to cater to various monsters.

Like a scratched CD
Revisado: 03-04-21
I definitely preferred the non dramatized version but the several parts throughout this book that skipped back and forth for minutes at a time like a scratched CD were terrible! Starting to wonder if it’s tantor media or an audible download issue. Hate when your taken out of the story.

Historia
Timothy Walter Bolton - better known as Timmy - has spent most of his life as a necromancer. When he isn't terrorising his enemies, he's plotting inside his castle, which is built on top of lightless chasms filled with nameless horrors and beings of a generally malevolent and megalomaniacal nature. But after one of his latest creations, a zombie hydra-dragon-bear, tries to eat him, he decides that maybe it's time to find a new, less dangerous, career.

Broken and skipping
Revisado: 02-27-21
There are numerous places throughout the book that it just skips forward and or backwards and totally ruins the storytelling and breaks you out of whatever your reading and makes you think you somehow lost your place and/or pushed something you shouldn’t have. At least 2-3 times in each book. Definitely getting lower score because of it.

Hard to get into.
Revisado: 05-22-19
Unlike every other book in this series this one was really hard to get into and follow. It had enough good parts to keep going and it eventually came together towards the end.

Historia
When horror author Thad McAlister began his latest novel, a tale rooted in the witch trials of centuries past, the words flowed effortlessly. The story poured forth, filling page after page with the most frightening character ever to crawl from his imagination. It was his greatest work, one that would guarantee him a position among the legends of the craft.

Hopeful but unimpressed.
Revisado: 08-12-15
Lots of promise but it jumped around way to much to care about the characters. I feel like I know the dog better than anyone else. If the story continues right where this left off and helps to make a strong connection with the characters then I might consider giving it higher praise. I'll get part two a chance but I am not going to go out of my way to read it as I should with a good series.
