Easily top 1% of the genre.
Very pleasantly surprised that the narrators were so good as well. Definitely wouldn’t mind listening to more books from them.

It’s great but not sure if I love how this one ended. But I will have to read the next book before deciding if this is rushed or not.

Historia
Joe the Ritualist fled Alfheim with the remnants of the Dwarven Oligarchy at his side. Though the hairy warriors number in the tens of thousands, they stand at the brink of extinction; and the new world they landed on isn’t pulling any punches. Jotunheim is a winter wonderland featuring a vast array of monsters: the least of which are hulking lizard-ape Hoardlings, and carnivorous penguins standing a dozen feet tall.

Recycled plot done bad
Revisado: 12-26-23
This books entire plot line is recycled from a lot of the previous books. Feels like one big filler and the misunderstandings that is the main conflict feels forced and a result of ideas.
I liked the TD aspect of the book, the only redeeming feature but unfortunately not good enough to compensate for the trash of a plot line.
I’m super disappointed!

Mixed bag
Revisado: 12-12-23
I love the series but this book was a mixed bag.
The cliffhanger ending was not fun for starters.
The book meanders quite a bit and then ends in a cliffhanger… yeah we deserve better than that for being loyal readers, it’s not like we’re going to stop just because there’s no cliffhanger at then end.
Narationwise i have some beef with this book as well. It feels rushed and unedited. There are a lot of places where the cutting of audio is really weird, either too short of a pause or too long.
Some of the chapters starts at the end of the last chapter and so on.
A lot of small stuff that adds up. Not enough to make me not want to listen but enough for it to break emersion regularly and be annoying.
Yeah, this is production wise one of the worst one yet but I still love the series so hopefully the next one will be better. (And without cliffhangers…)

As Jin, I’m a man of the earth. A wielder of shovels and lord of rice and wheat. And sure, I also had to die and get pulled into another universe to end up here. But guess what? I’m starting to think it was worth it. I’ve somehow managed to get away from it all.

Historia
A devastating attack by the lich Quatach-Ichl has left Zorian and Zach reeling as their remaining restarts tick away. As they recover, they make preparations for their final confrontations with Red Robe, the lich, the primordial being, and the invaders—all within the shadow of a question they can’t answer: can Zorian and Zach both survive outside the time loop? When the time loop is broken, sacrifices will be made, bonds will be tested, and trust will be more important than any magical skill or power—and even then, success is not guaranteed.

Historia
Hello stranger, my name is Tal, and I’m not an adventurer—those people are crazy. I’m just a sorcerer who is masquerading as a wizard. Oh, and I’m searching for answers about my parents’ mysterious deaths. Also monsters and other foes seem to show up wherever I go. All right, I see it. My new traveling companions are seasoned adventurers and are teaching me their ways—or at least they were before something happened to Time.

A good start
Revisado: 03-29-23
First to the important part: would I buy the next book? The answer is yes.
In general it’s a good book. I like the characters, the world building is also good and the fact that this is based on a D&D campaign makes it all the more compelling.
My biggest issues with the book is the pacing. It feels like the time-loop progression is just way too slow. There is a lot of stuff in between that is good and builds the world and the characters but unfortunately I think the ratio is a bit off. The time-loop is just so unexplored at the end of the book.
I hope we get more time-loop chapters/days in the next book.
Thanks for a good read/listen!
