Historia
Like many couples, Michael and Jolene Zarkades have to face the pressures of everyday life—children, careers, bills, chores—even as their twelve-year marriage is falling apart. Then a deployment sends Jolene deep into harm's way and leaves defense attorney Michael at home, unaccustomed to being a single parent to their two girls. As a mother, it agonizes Jolene to leave her family, but as a solider, she has always understood the true meaning of duty. In her letters home, she paints a rose-colored version of her life on the front lines, shielding her family from the truth.

this book did not sugar coat the personal effect of war to the soldier and the families they came home to. a great story of the power of lovingly understanding another person even when they are changed or changing/growing

The music was annoying making it hard to hear the story
Revisado: 03-17-24
the background music was exceptionally annoying and distracted from the story and interrupted critical characters and plot.

Historia
Imagine that you live on a picturesque communal garden square, an oasis in urban London where your children run free, in and out of other people's houses. You've known your neighbors for years and you trust them. Implicitly. You think your children are safe. But are they really? On a midsummer night, as a festive neighborhood party is taking place, preteen Pip discovers her 13-year-old sister Grace lying unconscious and bloody in a hidden corner of a lush rose garden. What really happened to her?

Historia
On their first night in Paris, the Gamaches gather as a family for a bistro dinner with Armand’s godfather, the billionaire Stephen Horowitz. But an attempt on the elderly man’s life sends Armand, his wife, Reine-Marie, and his former second-in-command at the Sûreté, Jean-Guy Beauvoir, from the top of the Tour d’Eiffel, to the bowels of the Paris Archives, from luxury hotels to odd, coded works of art. Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Sequel ??
Revisado: 04-13-18
If you could sum up The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck in three words, what would they be?
Read it All
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck?
In the first 3 months of a new relationship everyone is behaving at their best.... So that is likely the best you will see. But, the bad stuff will get worse. Think About IT !!! If you see bad behavior during the time the other person is guarding to be at their best behavior where else would this go but worse when they let their guard down... & how far could it go ?
What did you learn from The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck that you would use in your daily life?
Good Lessons Throughout - We can learn from mistakes - Live Moves and How we respond to it is our choice.
Any additional comments?
Don't stop at a point where you have validated your feelings in the book = Read it to the END - It, to me, isn't NOT giving a Flip - but figuring out that caring about the real stuff is paramount and the rest is noise that we cannot control or is not critical to the situation. I expect a sequel when the author has a few more years experiencing relationship dynamics. But certainly on the right track.
