Having read this story a few times(I love to visit this cozy little spot from time to time) I decided to give the audible version a try and am so glad I did! The story itself is awesome but adding in this narrator? It just brought the book more alive than what I had playing in my head while reading. If you are looking for a great escape, especially if you live in the stormy areas of the country right now and can't get to Florida, then get a copy of Kokomo's Cafe and just relax.

Review:

Welcome to The Kokomo Café, a quaint little place with good food, drinks and meals served with a smile! Come on in and meet the owners. Mac and Ginny who cook, serve and are just about the friendliest people you will meet anywhere. You never know who you will meet here from locals to out of towners. It could be just about anyone from an author sitting alone in a corner, deep in concentration on his next book or maybe even a hit man. Like I said you never know who will show up. The stories are fun and give you the feeling that you are sitting at a table with a tall ice cold glass of sweet tea watching the world come and go through the eyes of the author. I found this book to be a fun, light read that kept my interest with the stories of the individuals we meet. It was a great way to spend a stormy, cold day inside and reading about the beaches and sunshine…wishing I was there!

Just as fun to listen to as it was to read! The narrator, Traci Odom, did a wonderful narration of the story and characters.

My review:
Deanna Chase never lets me down! Just when I needed a pick me up, she comes out with another fun and entertaining story in the Witch Island Brides series. All of the books so far have grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t release me from their spell until the end. The Shifter’s First Bite is no exception. The characters are well written and fun to get to know. It was nice learning how Zinnia and Reed reconnected after being apart for many years. Adding Krissy to the mix who is Reed’s co-star in a series and the fun times begins. I love to relax and lose myself in these stories along with many others by this amazing author who just captures the right amount of magic in her writing that keeps me entertained and wanting more. If you are looking for a great, entertaining paranormal story that isn’t on the more serious side then this is what you need in your library!

I have read the series so far and find listening to the audible version just as captivating. The narrator, Gabra Zackman, captures the essence of each of the characters amazingly! Listening to this series has helped me get through my day with a smile on my face :)
My review:
Keating Hollow is one of my favorite places to visit. The Townsends who this story revolves around is made up of a loving father and his four daughters. Each book centers on one of the daughters and tells her tale of who she is and how she became the person she is today. Each story also includes the family and also catches up with what they have been up to too. In this wonderful addition to the series, we visit with Yvette who in the last book, Heart of the Witch, we learned she had her heart broken when her husband left her for the love of his life. Broken and feeling defeated, Yvette struggles to handle the heartbreaking news and trudges forward the best she can with the support of her family. While drowning her sorrows at her sister Abby’s wedding, she decides to throw all caution to the wind and goes home with the bartender from the wedding. And this is where the story gets really interesting! Imagine spending the night with one very good looking man only to find out that he is entering your life not only as your out of character one night stand but also as a business partner. Talk about a very uncomfortable situation…poor Yvette! Can these two people who were both hurt by the ones they loved find a way to ignore their growing feelings for each other and maintain a business environment and remain professional or will they say ‘the hell with it” and take one more chance at love with each other? Ahhhh…I’m not giving THAT secret away! You my dear friend will have to find out for yourself! So, come along on a marvelous journey into this amazing series and lose yourself in a quaint town where everyone looks out for each other, friends are numerous, love is over flowing and family means everything. I love this series that Deanna Chase has spun, weaving her own kind of magic over the pages that lets one let go of life’s tribulations for a while. Definitely a very entertaining and captivating story that should be added to the reading list by those looking for a wonderful escape.

Before I listen to an audio book, I always read the story first, giving myself the chance to hear in my mind the characters as they speak. Scabs II was no different. This author paints the scenes with his words and descriptions and you can't help but hear the action going on too. Now listening to the story while the author himself reads it? Well it is twice as good! Eric A. Shelman draws you into this book with his perfect articulation and gives new meaning to narration! He can take the words on the page and hit it perfectly as to how the character should sound with each infliction in his voice. The story was creepy good before but now after listening to it, well once again I will be sleeping with the lights on as I did after reading it!

My review:
Just as the first book in this series, Scabs: The Gemini Exception drew me into its engrossing story line, the second book, Scabs II: The Quantum Connection, had me completely enthralled as I read along. With the characters from the first book surviving in the cabin and trying to learn more about the man eating monsters that are taking over civilization they come upon more information to help in their fight for survival and are met with help from a strange, unexplainable source that will communicate in an even more unusual way. I have to say that the mind of Eric Shelman is one of immense imagination as he spins his cocoon to draw the reader into this story. With family and friendship one of the focal points in this story you can’t help but become emotionally involved with the characters. Feeling their pain and at times hopelessness as they come together to find a solution to this invasion of hellish creatures. If you are looking for a well written, entertaining, edge of your seat apocalyptic story that is very unique of it’s outbreak, then do not hesitate to get into this story. I do advise starting with the first book so you understand what had happened to start this whole ball of wax rolling and to learn who each character is and what important role they play in all of this. This is one series that I highly recommend without hesitation because it is that good!

I really enjoyed this book. I did read it first and loved it so much I got the audible to listen to while out walking. I am loving this series so far. It's fun, light and has me laughing at some of the things that happen in it. I would recommend if you have younger kids to listen with headphones on because it does get a little adult at times. Definitely will be listening to this again when I'm looking for something to pick my spirits up on a down day.

This is a fun, light story to listen to. I listened to it while out on my daily walk and it made the time fly by. I did get some funny looks as I laughed out loud at some of the scenes but...oh well! Definitely will give you a pick me up if you are in a bad mood. The characters are fun and interesting. The narration kept the story alive and fun. I thought she had captured the characters voices very nicely. Definitely a must add to anyone's library.

What made the experience of listening to Pandemic: Level 6 the most enjoyable?

The awesome job the narrators did capturing the characters emotions.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Pandemic: Level 6?

It would be a spoiler to anyone reading this so I decline to say.

Any additional comments?

As with all of the movies I’ve watched and audio books I have listened to, I did read the book first so that I could form in my mind what I see or hear and not what a director or narrator with their own ideas of what a character sounds like can influence me. I have to say the dual narrator team of John David Farrell and Kris Adams got it perfect as to what I thought the characters sounded like in all of the scenes in this engrossing story that Bobby Akart painstakingly wrote.
This being the third book in this series, I have come to really feel the emotions that are flowing within the tight circle of family and friends of Mac and Hunter. I’ll be honest, I did laugh out loud at times as the little comic relief that was added to what is a terrifyingly realistic story brought a much-needed break and I also cried at scenes that well, were just heartbreaking!
In addition to the amazing writing of this story, the narrators hit all the right buttons during each scene with right infliction of grief, happiness, stressfulness, etc. that brought the story totally to life.
I can’t say enough good things about the book or the audio. This is one series that I am so happy to recommend because it is that good. Definitely a must add to everyone’s library of books and audible stories.

What made the experience of listening to Pandemic: The Innocents: The Pandemic Series, Book 2 the most enjoyable?

The story line itself and the narration.

What does John David Farrell and Kris Adams bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Their incredible ability of bringing the characters to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had so many emotional ups and downs. There were parts I chuckled at and others that I did cry.

Any additional comments?

As we saw in book one of this series Beginnings, the world is being overcome by a disease so savage that it does not discriminate between any race. Culture, sex or age. All those who come in contact with an infected person will die! The pneumonic plague is one of the oldest and dangerous diseases ever to come into being and it is on its way to killing most of the world’s population with no cure or vaccine in sight!
I am absolutely loving this series! Bobby Akart with his brilliant writing is taking us through the steps of what “could” happen to our world. His writing shows the depth of his research to bring us not just an entertaining story but information on what to do in the event we do face a pandemic in order to survive. The characters might not be real but seem to be and come to life on the pages. As many work to come up with a solution to the pandemic, people are dying by the thousands. Who will survive and will there be a last minute Hail Mary? You will have to read this outstanding story for yourself to find out the answers and I can tell you that you won’t be sorry! This is a series that I am recommending to all my friends and family without any hesitation.

Where does Pandemic: Beginnings rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 5

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes it did! With the realistic writing, the author makes you feel as if you are part of the story.

Have you listened to any of John David Farrell and Kris Adams ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have heard John David Farrell's narrations prior to this one and he does an amazing job with this story. I haven't heard Kris Adams narrate before but feel she did doing a wonderful job with this story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had so many emotional moments. From yelling out loud to crying. This story is very realistic.

Any additional comments?

I have read and listened to many of this author's books and have loved each one. The Pandemic series is one that scares me the most with it being more of a possibility of coming to fruition with all of the terrorism in today's world.

What made the experience of listening to Shiloh Ranch the most enjoyable?

Though I did enjoy the first narrator of the books, I found this narrator to be be more spot on with how I could hear the characters in my head as I was reading the book. I always read the book before listening to the audible. Kind of like reading before watching the movie.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I feel Alex has become quite a fighter and is such a strong character in this series. She has a good head on her shoulders and uses common sense when it is needed.

Have you listened to any of John David Farrell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't listened before but look forward to hearing more of his work.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried, laughed, swore and cheered while reading and listening to it. Bobby Akart has a way of bring the characters to life that you forget they are just a character in a book.

Any additional comments?

This is such a good series. One that I can recommend without hesitation.
