Historia
Koren Bladewell now knows he is a wizard, but he is lost in the wilderness, cut off from help, and unable to use his powers. The enemy is poised at the border with an overwhelming invasion force, and it will take wizards, soldiers and a young, untested princess to hold off defeat long enough for Koren to be trained and grow into his power. But he might not wish to help those who deceived him and destroyed his life.

This story is far from over.
Revisado: 07-11-21
If Craig Alanson thinks this story is done, he is most assuredly wrong. If any thing this is just the beginning. Spoiler alert! Sure, the demon is gone and dead, but that just leaves a power vacuum that will need to be filled. Maybe the three books are done, but now Craig Alanson has a new story to work on. What happens afterwards? Sure, there is no demon now, but there is still human greed. What about the dwarfs? Where is Koren Bladewell sword? Will he even need it? Will he reveal that he may still be a wizard? With him and the Queen to be married what about their children? Yes this story is far from over.

Extraterrestrial life ?
Revisado: 11-20-20
Extraterrestrial life ? The highest levels of government hang in the balance of knowing the truth. People are willing to kill to keep you from finding out the truth. Some people are convinced they know the truth. Some people not wanting or denying to know the truth. Then some simply don't care one way or the other about the truth. The truth here has more twists and turns than a "Gordian knot," It was all I could do not to cheat and go straight to the end of the story to confirm what I thought was the truth. I'm glad I didn't because I would have been wrong.

A Skippy Production? Head between hands, Groans No
Revisado: 06-19-19
A Skippy Production? Head between hands, Groans No, please god no, will someone please throw me out an airlock, or shoot me now and put me out of this misery?
I had been wondering why I had been so annoyed with this Drama, when I liked this series so much. After some reflection I recalled the beginning of the story when the character Skippy said it was taking over the telling of the story. I started to listen to the drama again and confirmed what I had heard.
Why was I so annoyed? Well anyone who has been following the series can tell you just how annoying Skippy can be, and since he is the one directing the retelling we should all recall his fondness for singing and music as horrid as we all know it to be, and that it is mostly all about him. It should have come as no wonder that it played as it did,
Most of the people having heard this story and giving it a great review most likely got that right off, I was much slower to realize it.
There were so many great things about this Drama while at the same time so many things that were just plain annoying. I don't feel compelled to remind you of the greatness, so will go with what was so annoying.
The sound effects in all too many cases drowned out dialog. While I enjoy sound effects, I wish they had dialed down what for me just ended up as un-needed noise. Looking back now I can blame this on Skippy's version. After all he hijacked the so called report after he heard himself referred to as an 'It'.
The story would have been far more enjoyable if I could have followed or heard clearly the people speaking. This clearly seemed to me the sound effects were more important in this drama that the narration of the well known voice actors, for which were all to often drowned out. Again blame Skippy after all humans or as he would call humanity monkeys are of no real importance so of course the sound effects would be more important than say any human dialog.
I have very much enjoyed the Expeditionary Force Audible series, but had this been the first book I most likely would not have gotten the second. Having said that I hope that the next audible drama, and I do hope for another, is that they tone back SFX.
If you can get past the annoying little 'beer can' this is a great book.

Historia
The human soldiers stranded on the planet Paradise have been recruited into an alien legion to do the dirty jobs that the high-tech species won't do. Their first mission is to kick the enemy off a backwater planet no one cares about. It's a simple assignment, except everyone has a hidden agenda, and the planet could become a deathtrap.

Read all about it.
Revisado: 06-09-19
I have just finished listening to 'Deathtrap' and what I hope is just the first of this new 'Mavericks' series. It is a takeoff from Mavericks: 'Expeditionary Force, Book 6 I been hooked on the 'Expeditionary Force' series since my son recommended that I should give it a listen, 'Columbus Day' was... well I will never think of ‘Barney’ the same way. Not that I will ever like that dinosaur, and the Beer can; ‘Here hold my beer’ and ‘Joe you’re probably not going to like this’ or, ‘Joe there might be a small problem.’ Well each in its own way can be quite cringe worthy. And that is in a way a small part of what makes listening to these books so much fun. I can say that the Narration by R.C. Bray is priceless, I own the Kindle version as well, a fun read, but R.C. Bray is the reason I stay wake all night listening. You will not hear much about the beer can or Joe Bishop in this book. It is not about them. It is a slightly different tone, but no less enjoyable. Lastly, I like this series so much I have preordered “Homefront: An Expeditionary Force Audio Drama Special “ coming out in a few weeks.

Historia
United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

Nearly impossible to understand
Revisado: 02-01-19
My son turn me on to this story, and I was hooked within the first 5 minutes. While nearly impossible to understand at times, that is not a failing. Stories like this you have to let go of any perceived logic, and simply be entertained with the give and take of the dialog. It is the craziness of the writer, but more importantly the performance of RC BRAY that makes this so enjoyable. If I had had to read this, I may very well given up on it, hard to tell since don’t have a hard copy to read. Still it is the performance of RC BRAY that makes this so enjoyable. I don’t think I could have made the dialog so enjoyable simply reading it. Case in point is when Skippy the AI sings. This is a case where Audible has taken what might be a hard to read story and made it very enjoyable to listen to. In case your wondering Skippy the AI couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. and is an ongoing joke. Over all I gave it 5 stars, and the performance 5 stars. I gave 4 stars for the story, as it seemed it was a never ending series life and death scenarios, with the solution each time being some wild suggestion by a human and to me completely incomprehensible that is executed by an advance AI, that didn’t seem capable of thinking up these things itself, yet had little to no problem executing the solution. However, as I said the banter between our two heroes as perform by Rc Bray made it highly enjoyable.

Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

Historia
History is rewritten in an instant as the future smashes into the past, and high-tech hardware goes head to head with World War Two technology. In the chaos that ensues, thousands are killed, but the maelstrom has only just begun. The veterans of Pearl Harbor have never seen a helicopter, or a cruise missile - let alone nanotechnology, ceramic bullets, and F22 Raptor stealth jetfighters. Allied and Axis forces are then caught in a desperate struggle to gain the upper hand.

Mixed feelings about this one.
Revisado: 11-28-18
I have always enjoyed time travel back in time. However as some pointed out the so call polical correctness, and the seeming end to long going problems that still continue to make the news seems forced.
Clearly these people came from a future not own, and that might have been some what hard to swallow.
Once you realize that their future is not our own the story becomes more readable.
There are many give always from the technical details, many of the things said haven't been created yet. The same yet not the same. I had a hard time with the names of the ships, and what they where made of. It would be cool if our navy has half the things talked about. If anyone thought these could be our ships, they would be sadly mistaken.
Could our present day navy beat a 1942 Japanese navy, hell yes it could. Is the navy in this story our future navy, not for many, many more years.
