It's a fear more paralyzing than falling. More terrifying than absolute darkness. More horrifying than anything you can imagine. It's the one fear you cannot escape, no matter where you run...no matter where you hide. It's the fear of yourself. It's real. It can happen to you. And facing it can be deadly.

Another Awesome Read!
Revisado: 11-20-24
I love me some Koontz!! I could llisten to his books every single day! So now I'm just going to pick random words that come up in suggestions to fill my 15, as I'm way too tired to think straight. Also, Koontz doesn't need me or anyone else to give him a good review to sell books!! ok over 15 now, but here's my random words, seems fun. 🤔😉😁🤣👋😊
and the only thing holding you in the ass is that you feel up and down for a month thus far along the road. they say 15 word minimum, yet i should be way over that by now.

Another masterpiece from the Queen of Suspense! Ty
Revisado: 10-19-23
I have many favorites from Britney King, but this is my favorite single. My Top 2 favorites are her first set's/collections. I've read every book she wrote, being hooked from her 1st one! Out of all of them, only 2 books made it past one sitting, I have to read/listen to them all at once, truly cannot put them down!
There's only one other Author who writes in a way that keeps me enthralled like her and that's Koontz. I'm not saying her books are like his in content, just that they both are amazingly talented Authors!!
I've read well over hundreds of thousands of books in my 50 years, so it was quite amazing to find an Author after over 40 years that could consistently blow me away like she does!
In fact, Id have to say that she's my favorite because she's the only one of thousands that has not written a single dud! Quite the feat.

Historia
It looks like a wardrobe, but open it up and it leads you back into a world of childhood - of fantasy. Lewis, now famed the world over as a children's author and religious apologist, was a university Professor who kept his private life a doggedly guarded secret. Living exclusively in the world of men, his life was really dominated by women - by his mother, whose death when he was a child scarred his whole life; by Jane Moore, with whom he lived for 33 years; and by Joy Davidman, the American he married.

Wilson is having an identity crisis...
Revisado: 05-20-21
Wilson is having an identity crisis in which he is obsessed with Lewis, and puts way too much thought and time into comparing himself to him, putting fault on an him for his own actions and attempting to analyze him in every way possible.
The saddest part of it all is that the man he is so completely infatuated with and whom he has spent so much of his time, energy, and sanity over had already passed before this started!
Yet, he imagines that he has ruined his life overall. He even goes on to write this book and discredit said man in every way possible! IT'S A VERY PATHETICALLY LONG RANT FROM AN OBVIOUSLY DEKUSIONAL MAN WHO NEEDED MORE THERAPY THAN PROBABLY POSSIBLE!
Don't waste even a minute of your time on this sad a** B.S.! lol

Too many unanswered questions at the end.
Revisado: 02-04-21
Great read and kept my interest through the majority of it. However, I went back over the last few chapters several times trying to find what I must have obviously missed somehow and never found it. There's a big hole in the story at the end, if there weren't already a second book that I'm assuming will explain, I'd be very disappointed right now.

Excellent Book!
Revisado: 01-14-21
I stayed up the entire night listening to it and at the end I found myself not wanting to let go of the characters as if they had somehow entered my life. In other words. this book seemed very real to me. I've read and listened to thousands of books and very few connect you to the story like this one did.
I definitely recommend this book, it is not my usual genre but am glad that I chose it. I will be looking for more by this author...and to the Author, Thank you for an excellent read!

Loved it!!!
Revisado: 01-12-21
Great read! Did it in one sitting and was wishing for more! There's one period of the book around the 3/4 mark that it gets a little slow and I almost stopped until later (which 90% of the time, means I never finish) but I'm glad that I stick it out a bit, as it picked back up through to the end.
