Would you listen to The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi again? Why?

Yes, I will. The book has so much information. I will be taking notes on the next listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi?

The description of Dead Sea area. I always knew nothing lived in the sea because of the salt. I knew nothing of fresh water flowing in from underground springs.

Which scene was your favorite?

The completion of Old Testament prophesies to New Testament truths.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The description of Jew preferring death to prevent retuning to slavery.

Any additional comments?

Kathy Lee has written children books and I felt as if she was narrating to children, at times. But, despite that, I believe she was the best narrator for the book.

What would have made How to Get Run Over by a Truck better?

Leave out all the use of foul language. Too much fucking this and fucking that.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Hopefully something that will be not so foul mouthed.

What character would you cut from How to Get Run Over by a Truck?

Only some of the language. Everything else was great.

I have never been run over by a truck. however, I was blown up and shot once and a victim of a hit and run by a car against my motorcycle and spent a few months in the hospital. After about 2 dozen surgeries, I still appreciated being able to converse without being as foul mouthed as this author.

Narrator put me to sleep. Because of boring naratorbtrying to put me to sleep, hard to listen when driving. Too hard to stay awake at home.

Too much unnecessary profanity.

"Preacher" Middleton

Yes

Could you see Shelter Mountain being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Because of the unnecessary profanity, I could see it made into a movie. Too many foul mouthed actors for me to choose from to star in the movie.

Deleting "MF" out of books would really make any book better. Reading used to be an escape from excessive profanity. Now it is as common as in movies,

What disappointed you about Yes Please?

It seems like the more I try finding interesting books, the more I find pure trash. I am no where near a prude and I do use some filthy language daily. However, when the first chapter of this book seems to be in a contest to see how much foul mouthed it can be, it won.

What could Amy Poehler have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Keep some of the "mother fucking" words out and write what could have been, a good listen.

The one that was sorry he ever thought he was going to get some enjoyment and laughs out of this book

Very well written for such a terrible time

Where does Sister of Mine rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have purchased over 100 audiobooks and this one is one of the very best. The story line of Jewish planters and the role of slaves at that time, was really different from al other audiobooks. A white girl from the husband and wife and a black girl from a slave woman growing up together.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the white sister returned all her black sisters letters and stopped keeping them from her.

Narrator, Bahni Turpin, does a marvelous job on everything I listen to from her. When looking for a new audiobook, I tend to look for books she narrates as much as authors.

Would you listen to Alvin York: A New Biography of the Hero of the Argonne again? Why?

Yes

What did you like best about this story?

The research that was taken for actually portray this biography.

Which scene was your favorite?

The Christian belief and man's conflicts.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

Alvin's life experiences after The Great War. The attack of the US Govt {IRS} after the return home. Very similar to Joe Lewis after WWII.

Most books are much better than the original movies, this is defiantly true in this case. The book really is better. Also the information of the search for the actual site of the battlefield.

It is a shame that such a good story was narrated so badly. It sounded as if the narration was just read by someone who stumbled and bumbled his way to the end.
