Good Addition to Series
Revisado: 09-19-22
I have been listening to this series from the first. I’m not always as sympathetic to Tracy as I am to other favorite characters, but I enjoy these novels. I had a couple false starts with this one but I recommend you keep listening. About 25% of the book in and I ended up listening all night.

Not Enough Story for a Trilogy.
Revisado: 08-22-22
I would give this a five for the story. It’s much less annoying than many of the genre. I’d make it a 4 because it could use some significant editing and finally a 3 because seriously- 2 books and the story of these few people isn’t done yet?! I love a good series. But I expect the books to complement each other, or build one on another, but not end with nothing but questions after the second full length book. This would have been so much better if it had been edited down to one 8-10 hour book and not a trilogy(and we are still waiting for the third.)

Good Zombie/Not Zombie Story
Revisado: 02-22-22
I’m a huge fan of post apocalyptic fiction, not so much Zombies. This was a good way to include “the undead” in a more plausible fashion. Ok, I realize how silly that sounds. This story had good characters, a bit of a mystery, and (AUGH!) a cliffhanger. The other books are included in Audible Plus, so I’m not quite as disappointed as I normally would be in this situation.

Historia
Los Angeles is a city of sunlight, celebrity, and possibility. The L.A. often experienced by Homicide Lt. Detective Milo Sturgis and psychologist Alex Delaware, is a city of the dead. Early one morning, the two of them find themselves in a neighborhood of pretty houses, pretty cars, and pretty people. The scene they encounter is anything but. A naked young man lies dead in the street, the apparent victim of a collision with a moving van hurtling through suburbia in the darkness. But any thoughts of accidental death vanish when a blood trail leads to a nearby home.

Loch Ness holds secrets, ancient and deadly. Does a monster inhabit its depths, or is it just myth? Why, after thousands of reported sightings and dozens of expeditions, is there still no hard evidence? Marine biologist Zachary Wallace knows, but the shock of his near-drowning as a child on Loch Ness have buried all memories of the incident. Now, a near-death experience suffered while on expedition in the Sargasso Sea has caused these long-forgotten memories to resurface.

Oh For Heaven’s Sake
Revisado: 05-31-21
I cannot believe how stupid the protagonist is! He’s supposed to be a PhD, a young Einstein and he makes one bonehead move after another. I actually yelled at this one. I would return it but I’ve had similar, albeit not as strong reactions to this author before. So, my fault. Cannot recommend.

Historia
My name is Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman, and I am a car mechanic. And a coyote shape-shifter. And the mate of the Alpha of the Columbia Basin werewolf pack. Even so, none of that would have gotten me into trouble if, a few months ago, I hadn’t stood upon a bridge and taken responsibility for the safety of the citizens who live in our territory. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. It should have only involved hunting down killer goblins, zombie goats, and an occasional troll. Instead, our home was viewed as neutral ground.

Mercy is in fine form
Revisado: 06-23-19
The Mercy Thompson series is one that I can listen to again and again. This newest entry was great on first listen and I look forward to hearing it again. At the risk of a spoiler, can I just say miniature zombie goats (or zombie miniature goats) HAHAHA! The story is just as good as all the previous ones, with surprises I Ben as I thought I knew what was happening.

Good listen while waiting for next novel
Revisado: 06-23-19
Kate Burkholder is another old friend I want to check in with. (I have some issues with her, but I still want to know how she’s doing.). So I’m waiting impatiently for the next book it this story was a welcome surprise when I saw it. It’s a good story, the ending was not telegraphed. My only complaint was it’s too short, which is not a fair criticism of a short story.

Good Book, Abrupt End
Revisado: 02-25-18
I would have given this 4 or even 5 stars, bot the end was so abrupt it was disconcerting. I went back as I thought I missed something. Then I felt manipulated to buy the next book. The funny part was I liked these characters and I would have bought the second book immediately, but now I have to think about it.
To the review: I found the story to be interesting. I did not see the ending ahead of time. JJ seemed real to me, a little Quincy, which was fun. This genre can become very unreal to make he story work, but that didn’t happen here. If you are looking for a good series, this might be for you. As a stand alone book, see above.

. C. “Scar” Gordon was on the French Riviera recovering from a tour of combat in Southeast Asia, but he hadn’t given up his habit of scanning the personals in the newspaper. He must be 23 to 25 years old, in perfect health, at least six feet tall, weigh about 190 pounds, fluent English with some French, proficient with all weapons, some knowledge of engineering and mathematics essential...."

Where does Glory Road rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
High. I'm a Heinlein fan from way back. I've read Glory Road a number of times. I thought Bronson Pinchot did a great job and even though I knew exactly what was coming next he held my interest.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 10-18-12
What disappointed you about Masques?
Let me start by saying I love Patricia Briggs. I follow both the Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega series and I'm picky about my urban fantasy choices. This is more of a straight fantasy and didn't grab my interest the way her other books have.
What do you think your next listen will be?
When is the next Mercy Thompson book coming out?
