love this book!
Revisado: 12-17-21
I have listened to this book four or five times now, both of the master Potter books actually. they are so beautifully written and do such a great job of giving a picture of life and reality and how our father is always moving on our behalf even when we don't understand, even when we can't see him or feel him. I would say this narrator wasn't the greatest, very robotic, but if you can get past that, the story is worth listening too. I recommend listening more than once in order to understand and take it all in.

Historia
Mary B. Addison killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: a white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary, and the jury made it official. But did she do it?

I'd give it a 7/10
Revisado: 10-14-21
I'm a recovering addict, heroin, crack, meth, but heroin was always my first love. and I loved this story because it was so real and raw but I think sometimes as addicts we focus so completely on the years we spent in our addiction and explaining each and every detail but when it comes to how we got clean, we sell ourselves short on that part of the story. but that's the most important part. I think the author did a great job, and I enjoyed this book. but I'd love to have heard more about her life after addiction.

Historia
Charlotte Davis is in pieces. At 17 she's already lost more than most people do in a lifetime. But she's learned how to forget. The broken glass washes away the sorrow until there is nothing but calm. You don't have to think about your father and the river. Your best friend, who is gone forever. Or your mother, who has nothing left to give you. Every new scar hardens Charlie's heart just a little more, yet it still hurts so much. It hurts enough to not care anymore, which is sometimes what has to happen before you can find your way back from the edge.
