Historia
In his vivid and profound addition to Audible’s Words + Music series, Jonathan Biss, the world renowned pianist and critical Beethoven interpreter of our time, expounds on the spellbinding hold the classical figure and his work possesses over him. Biss doesn’t just love Beethoven more than other music, he loves it more than most things. It’s the lens through which he understands the world, and has been since he can remember. But in Unquiet, Biss reveals the full extent to which Beethoven is also a ruthless lens through which he views himself.

Stunningly intimate
Revisado: 07-20-23
I mostly enjoyed the revelations by the author about himself. He is a great writer/speaker and is brilliant as a writer aside from his musical genius. Astounding how he memorized so many difficult pieces. Can’t say I like classical music but the performances were spellbinding for the sheer sake of the difficulty.

Morality. Relativity. Right and Wrong. The issues we face are complicated and everyone has an opinion. But who has the answer when it comes to sexual issues? Sex dominates our popular culture to a degree we've never seen before and unrestricted sex is being touted as a shortcut to personal fulfillment and satisfaction - but it's a counterfeited and cheapened imitation of the real thing. Respected pastor Tony Evans refuses to let the voice of God be drowned out amidst the clamor of the crowd.

A revelation…mind and heart changing!
Revisado: 11-12-22
Eric is a brilliant writer whose comic innuendos throughput the book make one smile and shake one’s head in amazement at his vocabulary and word smithing. He is a great educator and historian. His explanations of the theological issues be they Catholic or Protestant prompt personal reflection and perhaps some uncomfortable wriggling. I’m a Catholic who is researching a change to Lutheranism and have found this book a rational enlightenment. Luther was an astonishing man despite his alarming views on Jews. So I suggest you take what you like and leave the rest—in religion, people, publications and ourselves. Read it and learn.

Well done. A bit hard to follow some of the arguments and when some topics were dismissed without convincing arguments it was frustrating. But I learned much and it helped put my own “current” Christian denomination in perspective.

Revisado: 11-12-21
An absolutely remarkable work, extremely well done. Parts are gruesome and need to be heard in pieces time wise. The entire work is a tremendous although sometimes emotionally hard education.
The narration is exquisite, perfectly clear and well articulated, and inspires one to learn Hebrew.
I am grateful to have listened to it and have already tapped one of the many resources cited ( My Life by Golda Meir was excellent also)
I’m not Jewish although I am a student of Jewish history, culture, literacy, etc. So this book was a tremendous blessing. Great read for all religions and cultures.
