Incredible story of Nelson Mandela’s life
I went to South Africa on a two week tour after apartheid. Altogether, there were 60 in the group—25 of us were singers who performed in various places between Johannesburg and Cape Town. It was an incredible trip that I will never forget. Reading this book brought back many memories.

Wonderful on so many levels

Jamie Raskin‘s willingness to share the anguish of losing his beloved, incredible son followed by the horrible January 6 debacle less than a week later is just the beginning of the journey. Listening to his voice brought everything to life. Love of family, love of country, authentic care for those around him and more. I highly recommend reading (or listening!) from start to finish.

Inspiration for living a thoughtful life

Although I am a musician, my appreciation for Beginner’s Mind revolves around Yo Yo Ma’s all encompassing view of life in this world and our place in it. The thoughtful musings are the key, followed by the inspiration of the music. One does not need to be a musician, or even a lover of music, to be touched by this piece. I will be gifting it to many people.

I did not know anything about the Tennessee children who were taken from their parents and given to wealthy people who could afford to pay. Although the story is sometimes difficult to listen to, it is well worth the time.

Hearing the words of the book delivered by the author is always better than reading it myself. However, Barack Obama is a wonderful narrator bringing even more life to the written words. I look forward to his next box, and will listen to those as well.

An incredible story of determination and escape

This amazing story was well worth the time it took to hear it all. I appreciate Tara Westover‘s willingness to share it with the world. Although her family was somewhat different from the families I have known, the underlying problems within the family were not. Ms. Westover’s narrative was honest and compelling.
