Still good after all these years

I have read all of the books featuring Pendergast and this one is just as enjoyable as the rest. I saw some of the mixed reviews and I disagree. If you have read these books, you know there is always a bit of the “other” involved in his stories, some more than others. While you have to be willing to suspend your disbelief to imagine this happening, the authors do a credible job of bringing their reality close to something that could possibly have happened. I look forward to seeing where they will take us next.

I did not enjoy the performance nearly as much. It is always jarring to listen to one of these books when they have changed up the reader and you have to get used to a completely different accent for the main characters. Unfortunately, this reader really does overplay the southern accent on many occasions. His portrayal of the female voice was very off-putting and made it harder to get into the right mindset listening to this story, especially Constance’s voice which was so very different from any of the other books. Never the less, I really did enjoy it.

I found myself wanting to slow down not even an hour into the story just to make it last longer.

I love these books and this one is just as good and fast paced as the rest. I hope she continues this storyline!
