Historia
Anthony Fauci is arguably the most famous–and most revered–doctor in the world today. His role guiding America sanely and calmly through Covid (and through the torrents of Trump) earned him the trust of millions during one of the most terrifying periods in modern American history, but this was only the most recent of the global epidemics in which Dr. Fauci played a major role. His crucial role in researching HIV and bringing AIDS into sympathetic public view and his leadership in navigating the Ebola, SARS, West Nile, and anthrax crises, make him truly an American hero.

Name Dropping History of CRISPR
Revisado: 11-13-22
If you are a history buff who likes lots of irrelevant detail, this is the book for you. It is not about the technology. potential or ethical dilemma of CRISPR, which I an interested in. I did not finish the book I only made it about two thirds of the way, so it may become wonderful at the end, but I was tired of hearing about which bands played at the after conference party attended by such and so of the genetic world. Good luck.

Even as a girl Morgan has always been wild, like the seas which batter the cliffs beneath her home, Tintagel Castle. But she has always been safe, too. Then one day her father is called away to a war from which he does not return. In his place comes the High King, Uther Pendragon, with the sorcerer Merlin lurking in his wake. Uther claims Morgan’s mother, the Lady Igraine as his queen.

Excellent Characters and Engaging Story
Revisado: 11-10-22
Keetch writes deep characters with complex motivations in a story that retells the Arthurian legend from a unique and telling point of view. Her book brings out the social condition of women in both the past and the present by shining light onto the self serving male-centric view of the world. I enjoyed this book as much as the Mary Stewart Arthurian series and it felt much truer and more balanced than Stewart's telling.

Interesting Premise, Formulaic Execution
Revisado: 09-21-22
The premise of land-based magic is interesting, as is the creation of three protagonists who are all flawed and neither good nor evil. The basic characters seem shallow and one dimensional and the plot feels formulaic with a few twists. None of it seems real or authentic.

Historia
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of Underland, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers - precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

A chain of invented scenes that don’t hang together well. I ran through the last part of the book at higher speed just to see if it improved. It didn’t. Trite and formulaic plot.

Not as good as first book
Revisado: 02-27-21
Formulaic for super hero stories. Lots of zaps and bops against evil super villains. Not so much character building and new perspectives. Narrator is great with very effective voicing of characters.

Until Dreadnought fell out of the sky and died right in front of her, Danny was trying to keep people from finding out she's transgender. But before he expired, Dreadnought passed his mantle to her, and those secondhand superpowers transformed Danny's body into what she's always thought it should be. Now there's no hiding that she's a girl.

Formulaic
Revisado: 01-16-21
The first five books in the Trader series are some of the best science fiction books I’ve read. The last three do not have the character development, humanity and unique plots found in the first books. I could not feel or empathize with the characters in the last three books like I did with gist first novels.

Leadership
Revisado: 01-09-21
I first read this series when it was published as a podiobook. With hindsight, I realize now that my leadership career as a school administrator mirrored much of the experiences and strategies of Ishmael Wong. This is my favorite science fiction series that I have ever read and, I think, one that all aspiring leaders should take to heart.
