From the author of Audible #1 bestsellers In The Darkness, That's Where I'll Know You, The Physics of the Dead, and The Stone Man (shortlisted for the Audible Audiobook of the Year award 2015). Ever wished the world would revolve around you? Be careful what you wish for... Martin Hogan feels like he's being watched by everyone and everything, and doesn't know why. Even his pets are acting strangely. Each night he sees animals gathering outside his house in the darkness, staring up at his windows with glittering eyes.

I turned on this book every time I could get two seconds to listen to it. At times I was literally aching to find out what happened next. I loved hearing about the creative afterlife that Luke invents. Great story and highly recommended!

There are hangovers, there are bad hangovers, and then there's waking up inside someone else's head. Thirty-something bartender Charlie Wilkes is faced with this dilemma when he wakes up to find himself trapped inside The Black Room - a space consisting of impenetrable darkness and a huge, ethereal screen floating in its center. It is through this screen that he sees the world of his female host, Minnie.

Speechless
Revisado: 12-03-15
What can I say about this book? Well, right now I'm lying on the couch with a fever and tears rolling down my cheeks, having put off going to sleep to finish this story. Don't buy this book expecting an easy listen. It will grip you from the very start, clamping down on your nerves tighter with each chapter. I absolutely loved this story, especially the end (*cough*). It hit me in a very deep place. I actually felt insane during parts of it. This is deep stuff.

Historia
Nobody knew where it came from. Nobody knew why it came. When an eight-foot-tall man made of stone appears in the middle of a busy city center one July afternoon, two-bit (and antisocial) reporter Andy Pointer assumes it's just a publicity stunt. Indeed, so does everyone else...until the Stone Man begins to walk, heading silently through the wall of the nearest building, flattening it, and killing several people inside as a result.

Loved It
Revisado: 11-23-15
There are so many things I want to say about this story, but I'll keep it short. First, Matt Addis did a fantastic job narrating. Second, this was the best book I've read/listened to (and the best narrator) since I listened to The Girl With All the Gifts a few months ago. I literally felt chills while listening to some parts, and I sometimes got tears in my eyes. I loved the deep psychological treatment and development of the characters, and everything they said or did felt true to life. I'm a Luke Smitherd fan for life.

Einstein's Relativity and the Quantum Revolution: Modern Physics for Non-Scientists, 2nd Edition

Historia
"It doesn't take an Einstein to understand modern physics," says Professor Wolfson at the outset of these 24 lectures on what may be the most important subjects in the universe: relativity and quantum physics. Both have reputations for complexity. But the basic ideas behind them are, in fact, simple and comprehensible by anyone. These dynamic and illuminating lectures begin with a brief overview of theories of physical reality starting with Aristotle and culminating in Newtonian or "classical" physics.

Fantastic!

Wonderful lecturer, concepts well explained. I feel like I have the basic understanding I would need to research modern physics further. Will listen again!

Historia
Every new project (or job, or hobby, or company) starts out exciting and fun. Then it gets harder and less fun, until it hits a low point: really hard, and not much fun at all. And then you find yourself asking if the goal is even worth the hassle. Maybe you're in a Dip: a temporary setback that you will overcome if you keep pushing. But maybe it's really a Cul-de-Sac, which will never get better, no matter how hard you try.

Gave me a new question to ask before starting something
Revisado: 06-22-15
Sometimes this book seemed wandering and self-contradictory (on my first listen), but that just meant I really had to engage with the material and think hard about what Seth was saying. I came away from this quick listen with two main new ideas: I should always ask myself whether I will make it past the dip if I start something, and that when I do find something I will persevere in, the dip is my friend because it will weed out my less committed competition. I always remember now to do what others won't and I will succeed over them.

Historia
We send our kids to school and obsess about their test scores, their behavior and theirability to fit in. We post a help wanted ad and look for experience, famous colleges and a history of avoiding failure. We invest in companies based on how they did last quarter, not on what they’re going to do tomorrow. So why are we surprised when it all falls apart? Our economy is not static, but we act as if it is. Your position in the world is defined by what you instigate, how you provoke, and what you learn from the events you cause. In a worldfilled with change, that’s what matters - your ability to create and learn from change.

I took away from this book the conviction that the most important thing is to start, and keep starting every day, even though it's painful. I have resolved to pick myself first and not wait to be picked. Thanks Seth Godin!

I greatly enjoyed this book. It was a great motivation to do everything I can to be successful. Listen to it every time you need a pep talk or feel like giving up.
