Very enjoyable and well written history of the Borgia family, discounting most of the crap that has been accepted for centuries. It also illustrates how poorly the script for the TV series was researched and directed.

One of the best SF books I have read.
Revisado: 01-18-19
I have been a Science Fiction fan for over 60 years. The genre is full of great writers and great stories: from Asimov to Clarke, from Clarke to Vance and many others. Once in a while a book comes along that is among the very best; this one is one of those. I highly recommend it to all SF lovers and to those that like good story telling.

Historia
The Origin of Species sold out on the first day of its publication in 1859. It is the major book of the 19th century and one of the most readable and accessible of the great revolutionary works of the scientific imagination. Though, in fact, little read, most people know what it says—at least they think they do. The Origin of Species was the first mature and persuasive work to explain how species change through the process of natural selection. Upon its publication, the book began to transform attitudes about society and religion.

Beautifully written and narrated. Darwin was so incredibly thorough and explained his work and ideas so clearly that it baffles me that there are still people that do not understand them. The narrator does an excellent job - it felt that Darwin himself was speaking to me. I highly recommend this book... it should be in every hotel and motel room draw.

Historia
In the tradition of John Richardson's Picasso, a commanding new biography of the Italian master's tumultuous life and mysterious death. For four hundred years Caravaggio's (1571-1610) staggering artistic achievements have thrilled viewers, yet his volatile personal trajectory - the murder of Ranuccio Tomasini, the doubt surrounding Caravaggio's sexuality, the chain of events that began with his imprisonment on Malta and ended with his premature death - has long confounded historians.

A rivetting visit to the past.
Revisado: 05-30-16
What made the experience of listening to Caravaggio the most enjoyable?
The book is extremely well written and researched. It is written with real understanding of both the artist and his phenomenal art. The whole work becomes alive by Edoardo Ballerini's sensitive and smooth narration.
What other book might you compare Caravaggio to and why?
This book stands alone.
What does Edoardo Ballerini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He brings it to life and the whole experience becomes more thrilling and hard to put down.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes but it was difficult to do as it is 18 hours long.
Any additional comments?
I found that to search for the art work being described on Google added an extra dimension as the author points out many aspects in each work that would not be apparent to a nonexpert,
