Storyline was real, narration was superb! Whenever I see either of these names I know it's gonna be great!

I made it to chapter 4, but I couldn't finish it. From previous books, I do like Em Brown's writing, however, the narration didn't work for me.

Love Debbie Macomber, but this one was tough.

I look forward every year to Debbie's new holiday story. This one was hard for me to get through, and I'm not sure if it was a slow story line, or the male narrator not fitting the part. His voice seemed too old to me for a young man in his 30s. His Jack voice was good, although, being from Alaska, not too many people have an Irish accent, which is what I heard quite a bit! Laurel Rankin's voice was great for her part. Because it was a Debbie Macomber book, I kept listening, but it isn't one I will remember.

I love Jill Shalvis. I didn't hesitate to purchase this one and the next in the series. But I am struggling to get through this first one. The story is probably cute, but the narration isn't working for me. The male voice sounds like she has a mouth full of cotton. I'm sorry. I just can't recommend this story with the current narration. And unfortunately, narration can change the whole flavor of the story.

Cute story, but rough narration

Jill Shalvis is one of my favorites, and the story is cute, but I am constantly distracted by the narration. Her female voices are fine, but her male voices are totally off. I am having a hard time telling who is talking and the guy sounds like he has a mouth full of cotton. Sorry! I will avoid this narrator from now on.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Jill Shalvis is one of my very favorite authors, with her quirky humor and great stories. It's a double win with Karen White narrating, as she conveys the attitude and thoughts perfectly! A fantastic combo!

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Julia Duvall?

I couldn't get through the first story. I'm not sure what was happening with the narrator, but the voices were all over the place, and I felt like I was reading about insolent teenagers. I actually can't even tell you about the part of the story I heard, I was so distracted by the voice. I'm sorry. Insolent one minute, southern twang the next...I just couldn't keep up with it.

What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Perhaps a different narrator with a consistent voice for her characters would have helped.

Would you be willing to try another one of Julia Duvall’s performances?

No

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Frustration

What would have made The Texas Christmas Gift better?

In all my years of listening, this is only the second time I couldn't finish a book. The narration is awful. Perhaps if she wasn't trying to hard to have a southern accent, she may be okay, but after giving it several tries, I have to delete.

If you could sum up The Billionaire Wins the Game in three words, what would they be?

Cute Story

What did you like best about this story?

The heroine was strong.

Would you be willing to try another one of Lilly Swan’s performances?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Usually narrator's voices don't bother me, but the voice of Lucas was very distracting to me. He sounded like a stodgy old butler, not a man in love. Just my opinion, but when I notice the voice, it's not good.
