As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. I enjoy hearing cast and shooting stories, but there is A LOT of "Got it", "Fascinating!", "Thank God!" from Kristen. maybe she's excited or at a loss for another reaction. (?)

I looked forward to hearing this podcast episode but the further I got into listening to it, the more irritated I got when the guest speaker just couldn't speak without constantly laughing as she spoke. Everything else was good.

The book always held my interest
Revisado: 06-18-24
I will admit that I'm a person who is a glass half empty and half full at the same time. The cynical side of me wonders how much is accurate and true because it is written and performed my an actor, who while he had his day in the limelight, was a good actor. I didn't know either Ryan or Farrah of course, so only they knew their story best. Now that they are both gone, I wish them both eternal peace.

It’s easy to be yourself when who and what you are is in vogue. But growing up Black and gay in America has never been easy. Before Billy Porter was slaying red carpets and giving an iconic performance in the celebrated TV show Pose; before he was the Tony Award-winning star of Broadway’s Kinky Boots; and before he was an acclaimed recording artist, actor, playwright, and all-around diva, Porter was a young boy who didn’t fit in.

Revisado: 12-28-21
Billy Porter was a bit outside of my comfort zone. To a certain extent he may still be. But I decided not to pass up listening to his story and I’m so glad I didn’t. It’s about everything. And it’s important that you listen to every word and you’ll understand so much more than just Billy Porter’s story, you’ll understand so much more.

I didn’t want this book to end.
Revisado: 12-13-21
I wasn’t prepared for this book to be as interesting as I found it to be. I couldn’t wait to start it after each break from listening. It is perhaps the most well read audio book I have heard. If you read the book instead of listening to it then don’t bother. Sharon Glass’s voice makes it all worth while. Thank you Sharon.
