Historia
This short but powerful novel was acclaimed by Vladimir Nabokov and Mahatma Gandhi as the greatest in the whole of Russian literature. It is one of Tolstoy's most celebrated pieces of late fiction. At the center of the story is an examination of the nature of both life and death and how man can come to terms with death's inevitability. It was widely acclaimed when it was published in 1886 and remains a compelling narrative today.

Looking for something worth listening to but with a running time less than a work day? Well, here you go. Listen to it instead of watching a movie one night.
Given the brevity of the work, the characterization and plot development are indubitably remarkable... Well I'm getting bored.
Look, do you like Tolstoy? Fine, then I think you'll like this. Do you not know if you'll like Tolstoy? Perhaps this, being much easier to finish, is a better litmus than one of his more epic-length works.

Historia
In The Brothers Karamazov, Dostoevsky explores human nature at its most loathsome and cruel but never flinches at what he finds. The novel tells the stirring tale of four brothers: the pleasure-seeking, impatient Dmitri; the brilliant and morose Ivan; the gentle, loving, and honest Alyosha; and the illegitimate Smerdyakov, shy, silent, and cruel. They are behind the murder of one of literature's most despicable characters: their father. This was Dostoevsky's final and perhaps his finest work.

Very well worth it

The stars are misbehaving... I hope it took a 5 as I'd intended.
I liked it so well that toward the end I found myself standing around in my bathroom, still listening to my ipod, having come in with full intention and necessity of taking a shower but unable to stop the audiobook... so, yea, my peak engagement with the work seemed to rival my lifelong hygiene habits, and that is either positively or negatively impressive in some sense.
Had I not already gone through War and Peace this would certainly be the best audiobook in my collection. Nevertheless, as far as I'm able to generalize in short about such expansive experiences, The Brothers Karamazov was every bit as entertaining and memorable as War and Peace--and therefore more than every bit as good as any other audiobook I'm aware of--and I would wager on it as a worthy addition to your collection no matter what else you've got.
I unreservedly suggest that you download and listen to this at your first convenience, since, given even the minimum degree of interest demonstrated in your reading this review and the overall excellence of the book (with apt narration), I wouldn't ever wager on your being disappointed.
