The royal family of a powerful empire are visiting Belvaille for an upcoming diplomatic summit. Hank is happy minding his own business. Of course, his business entails robbing, extorting, eating lots of food, and fighting. But compared with the rest of the criminals of his city, he’s practically a saint. However, Hank’s easy existence is interrupted by the chief of security.

How did Hank die? Who is this stand in? where is the space station? What is an upper city? What is a lower city? Where did the planet come from? Thad Elon is now a god? I'm totally confused. When are you planning on answering all these questions?

Paul writes these fantastic books detailing characters we are all super familiar with but only know on a superficial level. Drosselmeyer follows the tale of the nutcracker... i grew up attending Arie Crown Theater in Chicago and various other churches and schools that held Christmas cantatas and plays about this famous character and his rich family. Finally i get to see some background into my childhood hero.
Did yall know that the author is also a famous writer of music for movies and plays?
Hes secretly the muffin man that lives down on Drury lane😂

is this book about Captain Planet?
Revisado: 02-06-23
a book about battery operated cars solar panels and wind turbines being the best thing since sliced bread If this wasn't a book for the whacked out environmentalist leftist psychos I don't know what is.... last time I checked mining for the component parts of a battery is a death sentence to anyone and is just as environmentally unfriendly as putting plastic bottles in the ocean! what happens to the wind turbines when they're no longer viable they take them down and they stick 150 ft fiberglass blade and bury it in the ground does that sound environmentally friendly to you???
narrator does a great job like usual.

Historia
Frank Herbert's Dune is one of the grandest epics in the annals of imaginative literature. Now Herbert's son, Brian, working with Kevin J. Anderson and using Frank Herbert's own notes, reveals a pivotal epoch in the history of the Dune universe: the Butlerian Jihad, the war that was fought ten thousand years before the events of Dune - the war in which humans wrested their freedom from "thinking machines."

A beautiful piece set between war and intrigue
Revisado: 01-24-23
😍A necessary beginning to a very misunderstood movie. How can one family be so against the other family? Is this a story about rival families over land or is thier more to the story here? After the first iteration of Dune we see both houses best friends and in a war against the thinking machines. Also the people of Dune find out thier planet has worth from spice harvesting. Can't wait to see the story unfold for everyone. 😂

Why do the books always have to end??? why can't they just keep going and going and going like an Energizer Bunny? I'm serious. I think you need to rethink these books and make them like a Stephen King novel...they need to be thicker than a dictionary. I can't wait for the next book....yet again!!!

Stunning performance as always.
Revisado: 10-25-22
I venture to read as many BV Larson books as are available. This book was the conclusion to a great story. Not as strong a narrative as I'm used to but still worth the read.
I'd like to say I'm sorry I bought this book on Amazon. I really wish Audible actually paid it's author's in real currency not just in pennies.
Hopefully I can realize a venue for audiobooks in the near future where I feel my money is actually going to the correct individuals.
This venue feels too much like taxes from the Fed!!!😭

Revisado: 03-20-22
I absolutely enjoy this authors stories. This story was hard to like as it was a biomancer story very closely related to necromancer so a bit gross. All the aspects of a GREAT LitRPG are here and well adapted to the character. If your looking for a book that diverges from the typical character creation then this is your book. I can't wait for the next iteration. Can I test read it?
