What a life!

As someone who knew about Kid Congo Powers peripherally, it was cool to learn more about his life. While I can’t relate personally to the addictions he’s conquered (I love a redemption story, even if it takes a few tries) - learning about all the bands he has played in and the people in his life was amazing. My god, he knows everyone! A courageous life for sure, surviving so much loss. If you get a chance, see him and his band perform live and definitely read this book.

If you liked John Dies In The End then this book and the ones that follow it are for you. If you aren't in the mood for unexplained weirdness with unlikely characters then this book is not for you and you probably aren't any fun.

I don't know what the humans are so cranky about. Their enclosures are large, they ingest over 1,000 calories per day, and they're allowed to mate. Plus, they have me: an Autonomous Servile Unit, housed in a mobile/bipedal chassis. I do my job well: keep the humans healthy and happy.

Excellent escape

This book is an excellent escape from the downward spiral of current events. Is not War and Peace but it did manage to make me chuckle several times and helped take my mind off the bad news that seems to get worse by the day. This would probably make a good movie or mini-series.
