Historia
Clare Cassidy is no stranger to murder. A high school English teacher specializing in the Gothic writer R. M. Holland, she teaches a course on it every year. But when one of Clare’s colleagues and closest friends is found dead, with a line from R. M. Holland’s most famous story, “The Stranger”, left by her body, Clare is horrified to see her life collide with the story lines of her favorite literature.

Not my cup of tea

I’m spoiled by EGs book series Ruth Galloway series. If she’s starting a NEW series she should make the main set of characters more distinctive. There’s too much opportunity to compare these characters to the ones in the RG series.

A tender and quirky novel about the romantic choices we make from the author of the New York Times best seller and Reese's Book Club Pick The Last Thing He Told Me.

Kept waiting for the story’s tension. Also the reader’s presentation was flat. Clearly she was reading and not performing.

Historia
Jessica James is broke and counting down the days until she can defend her philosophy thesis. Desperate to get out of her grubby attic digs, she and her friends break into her professor’s office…only to find her adviser dead in the tub. Scoping the crime scene for clues, she leaves evidence that makes her both a suspect and a target. Suspecting the school's Russian janitor of doing more than sweeping the floors, Jessica mounts an investigation. Her ragtag posse helps her uncover a related date-drug scandal, and she fears she’s the next on the killer’s to-do list.

Young Adult Genre?

Seems a little juvenile. I’m putting it down in the first chapter. I hate spending $$ on books that I can’t finish.

Listening to the reading of social media chat room chatter is annoying and distracting. I’m disappointed. I really like this series, but won’t recommend this book to others.
