Just awful

The writing is terrible, the story is terrible, the reuse of language is appalling. I liked that the main characters were gay, that was fine with me, but did one of them have to act like a lovelorn teenager? Barf. All of the Witch meets human metaphors without any of the fun.

This was a great story, and I am not a prude (hey I watch and have read Game of Thrones), but the sex in this story seemed like a way to take up pages. I found myself fast forwarding to get through them. Ridiculous.

I love S.M. Sterling. The Embverse Novels are great. I am fighting my way through this one but it is just an S&M mess. I am not a prude, and I did fine with Laurel K Hamilton, but this is just to much. The only thing I can say for it is that now I know where the alian space bats came from. Save your credits, listen to something else by this fine author and forget that he wrote this boring, cardboard charactered abomination.

These people are really are enough to cause road-rage. I was preparing for a CLEP test and thought that this might be helpful. Yick! once and a while they would say something in a useful, but I was so annoyed by the narration and forced ?banter? that I would have to back up to hear it, and that just to painful. I didn?t expect fun, but I did expect to not be annoyed.
