Narrator destroys story
Revisado: 02-19-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
NO! As a book, maybe, but I couldn't get past the awful narrator. I listened to Suspect and the narrator was very involved with the book, unfortunately, this one is not.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Didn't get that far
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Patrick G. Lawlor?
McLeod Andrews!
Could you see The Monkey's Raincoat being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
NO

Historia
LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

Awful!
Revisado: 02-01-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This is supposed to be a murder mystery. I have been through 6 chapters and I am still waiting for the mystery to show up.
What could J. A. Jance have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
The "hero" doesn't need to have sex with every woman in the book
What three words best describe Gene Engene’s voice?
OK

What aspect of Scott Shepherd’s performance would you have changed?
He is trying to put in a New York accent by the sounds of it and sound like a tough mobster and doing both poorly.

Outlaw Mountain - Needs better narrators
Revisado: 01-13-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Outlaw Mountain to be better than the print version?
No, it is not better, I can put my own version of what the narrator should sound like. The narrators sound like they are reading the book themselves and are not adding any inflection to the characters.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Joanna Brady - tough and compassionate. The author takes into consideration how a widow should act when someone may be trying to run her household. Knows her need to be in control when necessary.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Yancy Butler and J. C. Critt are AWFUL!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Love the drama
Any additional comments?
I am wondering where Audible is getting their CDs since there is so much skipping and empty segments of this audio.
