Great!
Revisado: 08-29-24
I have enjoyed all three books of this series so far and can't wait for the next. Very enjoyable to listen too. Also, recommend the Dragons Blade trilogy as well by the same author. I listened to both series and would highly recommend.

Historia
I am the reincarnation of a dark god. I cannot escape that now. The prince of demons come again. And I am hunted. The Fomori have a prophecy about my return, and have been so kind as to dispatch the Morrigan herself to slay me. She's even forging a special divine sword. Their armies of beastmen and giants march upon Hasra, and the ailing empire is in no shape to hold. They need new troops. They need us. My friends and I are being sent off to the other Catalysts we control to gain more magic so that we can resist the Fomori advance.

Really enjoyed listening to the book and the development of the characters. I really enjoy Saghir in this book, especially when picturing some of the lines coming from a rat.

Worth the Wait
Revisado: 12-07-23
I listened to The Aeronauts Windlass shortly after it came out and have been waiting for the second book ever since. Olympian Affair didn't disappoint and I enjoyed it deeply. The variety of characters and scenarios within the book provides a wide array of entertainment and perspectives that keep you engaged. Looking forward to the third book.

Good as always
Revisado: 03-30-23
Been listening to the series for awhile and have always enjoyed the mixture of sci-fi and magic. The author does a good job designing an unique world and magic system that allows for characters to rapid develop and change, sometimes comically. The individual books are a little on the short side, but I really appreciate how the author is always willing to bundle them if your willing to be patient. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Good but slow
Revisado: 10-18-22
Overall I enjoyed the story and performance, my biggest challenge was remaining engaged, especially early on in the book. I liked the characters, enjoyed the dark fairytale that Stephen King came up with, and the connection to classic tales from history. These elements, for me, made the story and allowed for me to persist through it. The challenge is there are times when parts of the story seemed drawn-out and highly repetitive, which may work for other readers but not my preference. I would recommend the story as a whole and glad to have it in my collection.

Nice Sequel
Revisado: 09-26-22
Been waiting for the second book too come out for a while and it didn't disappoint. The story was a pleasant continuation of the first book and picks up shortly after the original ended. I was delighted to see the return of the main and minor characters that set the stage and story. The merger of advance science and magic is also very delightfully and imaginatively done. One part that cracked me up was the the group going to a "Con" and fae arguing about superpowers. One critique I have is there were a couple occasions where lines were repeated and the audio seemed off, but it didn't take away from the story. Looking forward to book three.

Revisado: 09-11-22
There is one part of the story that I personally didn't like as much, but that could be a difference in taste. It's a pretty key point for the second half of the story, so I don't want to say because of spoilers.

Great continuation of the series. Enjoyed the new characters and plos the bring. Also, I enjoyed the moral dilemma Dante faces in this book. He's always portrayed as as a severely rational person to the point of being callous, but for once he mere people who test that personality trait.

Listened to the previous series and had a lot of fun with it. Glad to see this one pickup where the last one left off. I enjoy the snarking behavior of Blaze and Dante together and the contrast and conflicts their personalities bring out.
