A fabulous audio . . .

Total
5 out of 5 stars

This audiobook is a fabulous find! A great story about a girl who longs to live in a world that is strickly forbidden to her --- the life of a knight! And to top it off, her brother Thom hates the very thing she aspires to be because he wants to be a wizard.
It's a wonderful story of unrelenting determination, pin-point focusing, and sheer strength-of-will that draws the listener into the story and keeps one enthralled until the end. It's a short story (less than 6 hours) as most audio's go, still, Trini Alvarado is a wonderful narrator who makes this audio a pleasure to listen to!

A great start . . .

Linda Howard is one of my all-time favorite authors. She's written 2 of my favorite paranormal stories, "DREAM MAN" and "SON OF THE MORNING."
In this book "Raintree: Inferno," the sexual tension between Dante and Lorna is sooo electric you can feel your skin tingle!
I agree with other reviewers that the female narrator's intonations did not endear the listener to Lorna's character and is, at times, quite grating on one's nerves (it bothered me too!). Still, if you can ignore the female narrator's voice and concentrate on Stefan Rudnicki's voice (male narrator), you'll enjoy this book.

An unexpected conclusion . . .

Total
3 out of 5 stars

Beverly Barton is a good writer, however, the storyline to the conclusion of the Raintree and Ansara clash was not the best. I agree with Rebecca that the interaction between Judah Ansara and Mercy Raintree had wayyyy too much violence. And that the brevity of the book (under 300 pages) restricted full development of the main characters and the inclusion of the great couples that we met in the earlier books of this trilogy.

A satisfying conclusion!

"What Matters Most" is a satisfying conclusion to Sister Bernadette's story. The conflict / angst amongst the three principles in this story, the personal tension between man and woman, and the very personal struggle within Sister Bernadette, makes for a riveting listen. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Good book, too bad it's abridged!

Diana Palmer is one of my favorite "love stories" authors --- a true romance writer. "Fit for a King" is a great book, but a very unsatisfactory abridged audio. And, because I prefer UNABRIDGED audiobooks I usually WON'T buy an unabridged. BUT, because Audible doesn't have any other audios by Diana Palmer I purchased the abridged. It's just not the same! UNABRIDGED audiobooks, please!

Dark Truth by Lindsay McKenna

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 10-07-07

I enjoy all of Lindsay McKenna's books. She uses fiction to reinforce spiritual teachings that have been passed on for generations. The redundancies noted in her books are there for a reason --- like, did you get it? Too bad Harlequin did not audio her first book in this series!
