Historia
Joe Johnstone wrote science fiction until he grew too old to hold a pen. He never did make it to space. He had to die to do that. In 2092, the line has blurred between the living and the dead. Between organic intelligence and manufactured. Humanity’s first interstellar ships soar into the cosmos for exploration and colonization, leaving a tired and battered Earth behind. They are crewed by artificial intelligences and ghosts like Joe. Will the mission of one such ship, the Excelsior, succeed?

Great start for a new star
Revisado: 02-08-24
Jason Lambright shows us what’s to come in The Storyteller’s Heaven. Not only does he give us a view of the far future, but also shows us the promise of many more excellent stories from him in his writing career. From a dying veteran to a triumphant phoenix, the story of Joe and Samantha is both captivating and stirring. I look forward to more from Mr Lambight.

John Birmingham strikes again with a novel take on the idea of a sleeper agent. Exciting and engaging from the very first.

Two Down and I Can't Wait for Number Three
Revisado: 12-16-19
John Birmingham does it again, taking us believably to a time and place we hope never comes. From the disturbing insights into the mind of a sociopath to the anguish of parents made helpless by events, Birmingham sends us on an emotional rollercoaster that few will want to stop. Some of his past work has been nearly prophetic; let's hope he's just writing fiction this time. A must read.

Historia
The galaxy was once terrorized by the Sturm, a group of “species purists” intent on destroying any human with genetic or cybernetic enhancements. Fashioning themselves as the one true “Human Republic,” the Sturm cut a bloody swath across the stars, killing billions before finally being defeated and driven into the far reaches of Dark Space. Centuries of peace bred complacency. Everyone believed the Sturm had died out in the Dark. They were wrong.

More!!!
Revisado: 09-07-19
There’s only one thing bad about starting a new John Birmingham book. It’s that it will probably be the first of a series, and that means you’ll want more by the end. Cruel Stars has a world of great imagination, but is so real, you’ll feel you know these characters. At least I did, and I want to know them better. Come on, John, get writing!

Historia
Every modern city has one week’s worth of food to feed itself. Then it will collapse. Cut off the resources to New York, Sydney, or even a mid-size metropolis, and millions will soon starve. In Zero Day Code we see those immense and open, hyper-complex, networked supercities of the new millennium die. And in the last moments we see their vengeance take form as all the best and worst traits of humanity bubble to the surface.

As good as I thought it would be.

I love John Birmingham stories, and he did not disappoint. In fact there’s only one problem. I listen to audio books when I’m on my way from one place to another. This book has ruined my schedule. I keep walking around the block instead of walking straight in when I get somewhere because I can’t turn it off. I hope this is the start is a new series because I want more!
