Historia
Ever since discovering her lifelong best friend was sleeping with her (now ex) husband, Christine's trust in other women has been a little shaky. Sure, she has a few close friends, but she's also fiercely independent and shies away from sharing too much with them. When Ruth, one of her colleagues, hears Christine saying that she doesn't feel the need for a best friend, she wishes she could show her how enriching a good female friendship really can be. She embarks on a mission to find Christine’s girlfriends.

Chick lit
Revisado: 07-25-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Nothing, as the plot seems to be really boring.
It would have helped if it had been more clearly pointed out that this was a translation from German and if the German names and words had been pronounced correctly.
What could Dora Heldt and Jamie Lee Searle (translator) have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Give the plot more depth
How did the narrator detract from the book?
It annoyed me that the German names and words were pronounced wrong. One would expect a narrator with German knowledge and proficiency.
What character would you cut from Inseparable?
I did not finish the book

Ugly people have feelings too !
Revisado: 07-25-12
Where does Skin Deep rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This book can be read by adults and adolescents. The story and different characters were easy to follow. It shows that we all have our problems in life, the good, the good looking, the bad and the ugly.
Although each character was read by the same narrator, she managed to bring across the different people very well.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ryan. Because he seems to be a dream come true. He is a traveller with a stamp on his forehead that says trouble. But he is the complete opposite. He has manners, is nice and sees through appearances.
What does Lisa Coleman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She can bring different characters out very well.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
not necessarily, but it did keep me gripped till the end

A family tale with character
Revisado: 07-25-12
Where does Lone Wolf rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It was a nice read. Jodi Picoult knows how to write a plot, describe her characters. This book is written and narrated by the different members of the family and your imagination clearly paints a picture for each. The difficulty of family life is well depicted, especially when drama hits it or when one or more characters are special, absent or to present. The frustration and feelings of each member can be felt.
I would not call this a mind blowing book, but it was a goo story, well read and constructed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lone Wolf?
The difficulty a family faces when having to choose over life and death of a member.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Each character is read by a different narrator. That makes the story true and believable. The voices are well suited.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The brother/sister relationship

What if this really happened...?
Revisado: 05-22-11
Usually books with a simple plot or where nothing happens can easily be boring. Not this one. Its strength lies in the ties between father and son, in the desperation of staying alive, of asking yourself scary 'what if' questions. It grips you, especially if you are a parent and start to imagine what could happen, how you would react as a parent. It poses the question whether life is better at all cost. It shows the wisdom of a child and the guilt and love and hopelessness of a parent.
It's just simply brilliant and makes you cry.

Historia
Songs of the Humpback Whale is a powerful and sensitive novel of family life that questions how songs are passed down from male speaker to male speaker, but also examines the female tradition of listening that women unconsciously pass on to their daughters. Five rich narrative voices interweave to tell this story of love, loss, and self-discovery.

Good read
Revisado: 05-22-11
I have read a few Picoult (audio)books and quite liked the story of this one. How she draws parallels between humans and whales, how she describes a passion that takes over and threatens to ruin a family. I like the road movie part of Jane and Rebecca travelling cross country to escape. The only little doubt came when Jane is in love with Sam after only a few days.
I like her eye for detail on whales, apples etc
The story is well read and well written. It pulls you along until the end. A good read.
