Historia
Elvis Cole is hired to find a woman who’s disappeared, a seemingly ordinary case, until he learns the missing woman is an explosives expert and worked for a Defense Department contractor. Meanwhile, LAPD K-9 Officer Scott James and his patrol dog, Maggie, track a fugitive to a house filled with explosives - and a dead body. As the two cases intertwine, they all find themselves up against shadowy arms dealers and corrupt officials, and the very woman they promised to save may be the cause of their own deaths.

Best Elvis Cole book yet! Five Stars!
Revisado: 12-23-15
What did you love best about The Promise?
I really enjoyed how the author segmented the book into chapters dedicated to the different characters in the story line.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes it did - I listen while I drive and I found myself looking for excuses to put on some miles.
What about Luke Daniels and MacLeod Andrews ’s performance did you like?
It felt like a full cast dramatized production... very clear distinctions between characters.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Keeping your word was never in question..... do or die trying.
Any additional comments?
Just loved this production - more like this please....

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Far less profanity...
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing this "DARK"
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I wanted to see how it ended - but the language was just too much....

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

Revisado: 01-15-14
Where does A Higher Call rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is by far the absolute best book that I have ever listened to so far.....(I am a long time member with over 100 books in my library.....
Who was your favorite character and why?
Toss up between Frans and Charlie - but more Frans
Which character – as performed by Robertson Dean – was your favorite?
Frans
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Several parts during the air battle with Frans and Charlie - but the ending moved me to tears.. I listen while driving and I just about had to pull over it was becoming difficult to see the road...
Any additional comments?
The historical facts opened my eyes to the fact there is a big difference between German soldiers and the Party members.... I'm from Dutch descent and up until now I had not realized how much Germany suffered under Hitler's reign.

Historia
LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

Historia
He had led the posse for miles through the desert, but now Matt Keelock was growing desperate. He was worried about Kristina. His trip to the town of Freedom for supplies had ended in a shootout. If caught he would hang. Even though Kris could handle a horse and rifle as well as most men, the possibility of Oskar Neerland's finding her made Matt's blood run cold. He knew the violent and obsessive Neerland, publicly embarrassed when Matt had stepped in and stolen Kris away, would try to kill them both if given half a chance.

If you could sum up The Key-Lock Man in three words, what would they be?
Captivating Good Read
What did you like best about this story?
Although the plot was very familiar it had a few twists to it that kept you interested...
Which character – as performed by Jason Culp – was your favorite?
The hero - Matt Keelock was my favorite -
Who was the most memorable character of The Key-Lock Man and why?
It is difficult in Louis L'Amour's books to side with anyone but the main character - in this case Matt Keelock.
Any additional comments?
Like all of his writings Louis L'Amour does a great job of describing the wild west - I'm a horse rancher in Canada's desert country and enjoy the realism of his characters and their surroundings.

After the bloody confrontation in Appaloosa, Everett Hitch heads into the afternoon sun and ends up in Resolution, an Old West town so new the dust has yet to settle. It's the kind of town that doesn't have much in the way of commerce, except for a handful of saloons and some houses of ill repute.

"He said" too much
Revisado: 10-05-09
Within the first few minutes of this audio book the author said, "He said" so many times it took away from the story line - My gosh it was irritating... it got to a point where I was turned off from the rest of the book - what a waste of money....
