Historia
Accustomed to the bustle of London, DI Rob Marshall finds himself confronted with the unforgiving Scottish winters he had long left behind. Personality conflict gets old.

Proves the theory that stupidity climbs the ladder faster. Two out of three personalities are annoying. No more from this series.

Historia
It’s been 20 years since 9/11, two decades since the United States was attacked on home soil and set out to make the guilty pay with their lives. In the shadows, the enemy has been patient - learning, and adapting. And the enemy is ready to strike again. A new president offers hope to a country weary of conflict. He’s a young, popular, self-made visionary…but he’s also a man with a secret.

A little weaker than previous books
Revisado: 06-18-23
I appreciate the complexity and research required for this genre. But the likelihood of the world being saved by the convenient association of a girlfriend, a girlfriend’s friend, and the girlfriend’s husband is a stretch. So is the failure of medical professionals to recognize a virus naturally spreading vs a focused area target. And while I appreciate the talent of voice artist to create so many unique characters, this series young female characters all sound like Margo Martindale’s character from The Americans.

Historia
“Homecoming” takes us back to Ford County, the fictional setting of many of John Grisham’s unforgettable stories. Jake Brigance is back, but he’s not in the courtroom. He’s called upon to help an old friend, Mack Stafford, a former lawyer in Clanton, who three years earlier became a local legend when he stole money from his clients, divorced his wife, filed for bankruptcy, and left his family in the middle of the night, never to be heard from again—until now. Now Mack is back, and he’s leaning on his old pals, Jake and Harry Rex, to help him return. His homecoming does not go as planned.

One Out of Three
Revisado: 08-21-22
The first story, read very well by Jeff Daniels reads like a Grisham story. A little mystery. All the familiar characters. Entertaining. The second, a death row plot is and unsurprising dead end. The third feuding family destroying themselves, and their firm is just boring.

Historia
When a young man is found frozen to death on a Highland street in mid-December, DCI Jack Logan initially puts it down to a Christmas night out gone tragically wrong. But, when a postmortem reveals something more sinister, Jack discovers he is dealing with a cold, calculating killer with a long line of victims, a talent for torture, and a perverse sense of justice.

Over done character development.
Revisado: 02-16-22
I have read all of the series through this book. Love the team. But this book spent the first twelve chapters developing side characters and the details of their surroundings ad nauseam. It was like Kirk didn’t have enough story to fill out the pages so he multiplied the character development times ten.
