Really interesting characters

I really enjoyed this book series! It’s hard to believe that the author wrote the entire series in two years; that seems crazy to me! The characters are so fun and really make the stories - really it all joins together to be a complete story.

So heartwarming and interesting!

I really enjoyed this book and that Martin Short read it himself making it that much better. It was funny in parts, heartbreaking in others, and some stories make you cringe on his behalf! So much interesting stuff and it felt so authentic!

This series is becoming a disappointment

Books should have an ending that wraps up the case! It seems the author has started, with entirely too much frequency, ending these books with a cliffhanger! That’s not acceptable! We, as readers, invest a lot of time either reading or listening to these books and when the main case in the story does not come to a full conclusion, it’s frustrating! I am so annoyed right now that the story did not conclude. I am not a huge fan of cliffhanery endings where they leave a main character in jeopardy, but conclude the larger story of the book - but that’s at least reasonable. This didn’t conclude the story and there have been a few of these lately in this series to lesser extents and I am about to cross the series off of my list. I don’t enjoy listening to books that don’t conclude and for that reason, I don’t recommend this one - and I’m sad about that because I had been really enjoying it, but now I just feel cheated!

Love this series!

I love this series and this one does not disappoint! It is so intriguing and really held my attention. The characters are so well developed and I find that I can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen to them next.

Another terrific Eve Dallas book!

This series is just so consistently good! I have read or listened to all of them and enjoyed them. There were a few that I enjoyed less than others, but this is not one of those! It was super entertaining. The characters feel like old friends at this point and it’s just a pleasure catching up with them in each book.

Convoluted and obscured non ending

This book has major holes and I was overlooking those throughout the story. The characters are not well defined, but I found a couple interesting and was finding the story entertaining despite some large holes, frustrating characters and structural issues. Then, the book completely fell apart near the end. It was weird to find a book completely fall apart and leave the readers lacking an actual understandable and reasonable ending. I’m not talking about not wrapping things up or a cliff hanger - it just tried and failed to skip the end scene and tell the non ending through narration and surviving characters thoughts and conversations. It’s like the author didn’t know how to write the ending so they didn’t. Really disappointing and over 12 hours of my time that I won’t get back. The narrator was good.
