Why even consider being a commercial pilot ?
Revisado: 08-25-20
I got the feeling first couple chapters where this was going.
It turns out I was right.
Takes many things into perspective I could have used years and years ago.
No book Ive listened to yet except one are pilots treated fairly after all that money time and training.
That book was based on being pilot decades ago where you needed to be before everything became so cut throat.
I’m not sure what to think.
How can anyone make it on a regional or even legacy carrier?
Paid nothing, left stranded. Constantly commuting at own expense can’t afford to eat how could one even consider a family when you can’t take care of yourself ?
Read 7700. Best book I ever listened to about aviation.
You’ll get the idea since writer narrator are same.

Bad Vibes
Revisado: 08-23-20
It’s unbelievable a controller used to make and retired on $167,000. No one is worth that kind money with only high school diploma.
That’s why FAA upgrading to ADS-B more computer and direct routing.
All the incompetence this writer talks about is depressing.
Braggart as well.
I have a Money private plane corvette wife has Ferrari come on and so sour attitude on life.
Be glad your healthy most important thing thanking your Blessings.
Very negative book don’t bother announcer could been better one too.
Overall ungracious self absorbed book.
Don’t waste you money.

No way to pay for Emory Riddle ($100,000 plus) a Master in Business Degree as well prior- that’s a fortune. Especially a cfi or even first officer job at $14,000 year. Work for free ?! as “Intern” move up so quickly without outside help. No bank will lend that kind of money with no job or $12.00 CFI hr.
Living in nice high rise in Chicago on beginner pilot license....
Leaving all this out. Deceiving young people into believing this can happen so quickly eating out high class restaurants.
Don’t forget about only being paid while flying maybe a few hours to get ready. Staying away from family more than half a year.
This isn’t the 1970’s where pilots were paid 6 figures. Many have to pay the airlines to fly their planes until hired, most commute many across the USA in jump seat or very back of plane. Not paid to do that. Days on standby where you must be available anywhere from 3-12 hours at their beckon call. Ah you don’t get paid for that.
If you fail your medical your done!
Why do we see so many many pilots walking picket lines many older with seniority.
Kids please read “Squawk 7700” before you get hopes up. It’s not what you think and is portrayed in this book.
Eating Roman noodles if that, horrible routes everything is outsourced.
Read listen to “Squawk 7700” for reality of airline business. Want my money back please , all rainbows and unicorns.
This guy thinks he’s gift to all.
Wonder what he’s doing know with COVID?
Sitting home wife paying bills.
There is no way this guy should be captain of an airline. Incredible staying on ground frequency not changing to tower did he fill out the FAA incident report ?
Is this fiction! Incredible especially since company check airmen was there.
How befuddled in a real emergency not a simulator especially minimum 1500 hours because you paid$100,000 for Emery Riddle. Seems like the extra 500 hours was needed as most pilots who can’t afford all this education must do.
What would the military do with these type mistakes? You wouldn’t fly again.
Wrong microphones, not clearly conveying the checking of fuel, forgets to release parking brake .... all that stress on front strut without even doing NDT (non destructive testing -dye or electric) likely caused tremendous stress to pneumatic front strut gear pin or not. Next person flew that plane I wonder if he logged it in the aircraft log.
Not enough experience when you get these free rides to top....
Reminds me the plane landed with front gear sideways years ago did something like that happen?
Send our US aircraft out of this Country for maintenance. Again read listen “Squawk 7700” you may never fly again.
