Historia
A narrative seamlessly blending entrepreneurial prowess with covert government operations. As the visionary founder of Overstock.com, Byrne, once lauded as the “National Entrepreneur of the Year 2011” and hailed as the “Messiah of Bitcoin,” reveals an astonishing twist in August 2019—his role as a secret operative for the U.S. Government. This memoir lays bare Byrne’s integral involvement in the “Russian Collusion Delusion” and the Clinton Investigation, exposing them as deceptive maneuvers orchestrated on an unsuspecting public.

A novel padded with made for TV car chases
Revisado: 07-26-19
One would expect a novel about the early days of James Bond as 007 would not be filled with distractions that read like a TV script requiring special effects. James Bond, in his early days, was cerebral - outwitted his opponents with his intellect, not brute force. One would expect more from the writer of the Foyles War series.

But Matt's new home provides anything but peace and quiet. His new guardian is involved in very sinister things, and the whole town seems to be on her side. A Disappointment
Revisado: 05-15-19
Got this book because we had listened to "The Word Is Murder", and enjoyed Foyle's War. Also watched "Injustice". We thought that we had found a winning author. The plot of this book is unbelievable, even if one is prone to accept disbelief. The story line repeated so many times that it became predictable. Countless minutes (seemed like hours) were take up with endless description of events that would probably be OK in a science fiction movie. We certainly won't listen to the other books in the Gatekeepers series.

Beyond boring
Revisado: 04-20-19
The author clearly has run out of ideas. Most of the dialog is "filler" that has little or nothing to do with the case at hand, which, in itself, is so far-fetched as to test credibility. It's time for the series to come to an end.

Historia
Bronx-born top turret-gunner Arthur Meyerowitz was on his second mission when he was shot down in 1943. He was one of only two men on the B-24 Liberator known as Harmful Lil Armful who escaped death or immediate capture on the ground. After fleeing the wreck, Arthur knocked on the door of an isolated farmhouse, whose owners hastily took him in. Fortunately, his hosts not only despised the Nazis but had a tight connection to the French resistance group Morhange and its founder, Marcel Taillandier.

Historia
On a chilly February night, during a screening of Psycho in midtown, someone sunk an ice pick into the back of Chanel Rylan's neck, then disappeared quietly into the crowds of drunks and tourists in Times Square. To Chanel's best friend, who had just slipped out of the theater for a moment to take a call, it felt as unreal as the ancient black-and-white movie up on the screen. But Chanel's blood ran red, and her death was anything but fictional.

Boring and Cumbersome
Revisado: 02-22-18
Couldn't get past the first hour. The initial analysis of the murder was OK. Then, the author tried to write a torrid sex scene - that went on and on and on. And on and on - totally boring - a way to fill up space. Not sure how we picked this one.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Revisado: 03-01-16
Where does The Nightingale rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This has to be among the top ten audiobooks that we (my wife and I) have heard.
Any additional comments?
This is a story of love, loss and redemption. It is thrilling, even though often predictable, touching, and told in a manner that puts one "in the moment".
