Historia
What happens when a Daddy's girl grows up to be crowned the first female underboss of the mafia? What an excellent question. Thank you so much for asking. No, seriously, I've been waiting twenty years to be able to answer this. Trust me, being hidden away in another country with a nanny, a groundskeeper, his son (my ex-best friend), and the wicked witch of the west—a.k.a. my stepmother. I'm dying to spill the tea.

Very well written. The story flows easy and keeps your attention the entire time. It’s sexy, passion, and love.

Historia
Have you ever walked home at night, keys in hand, ready to throw a punch in self-defence? That’s how it all started. The killing spree, I mean. I sort of tripped into this role. Literally. The first one was following me. That guy from the nightclub who wouldn’t leave me alone. I pushed him, he stumbled, and fell onto his own broken wine bottle. Oops. It was such a waste of a good house white. But now I can’t seem to stop and nor do I want to, I’ve got a taste for revenge and quite frankly, I’m killing it.

This was a fun read (ha, listen) full of love and blood. Very well written and a super easy listen. Combines a modern love story while twisting in a man-hating murdered.

Historia
The year 1900 ushers in a new century and the promise of social change, and women rise together toward equality. Yet rules and restrictions remain, especially for women like Alice Butterworth, whose husband has abruptly disappeared. Constance Halstead, a young widow, has thrown herself into charitable work. Meeting Alice at the orphanage, she offers lodging in exchange for Alice's help creating a gown for the Leap Year ball of Les Mystérieuses, the first all-female krewe of Mardi Gras. Piece by piece, the breathtaking gown takes shape, becoming a symbol of strength for both women.

A southern Classic and a fun read as a local New Orleanian.
Revisado: 04-02-24
The story was well thought out but repeated some aspects over and over. I knew exactly how it was going to end when I was half way through and that’s when it started to repeat. I was hoping I was wrong and the hook would have shockingly changed the ending, however, it ends exactly as you think it will.
The southern charm is elegantly portrayed, but it could have been shorter or had more substance. Knowing the New Orleans history, some events did not match chronologically, but that’s part of fiction.
