The story line is excellent. That’s the last good news here. Mr Esola needs a lot more education in the correct use of the English language and really needs a proof reader that knows what they are doing. If you’re bothered by mistakes, don’t waste your time on this.

It’s abridged!

Outstanding, except that it was abridged and I didn’t realize it. Introducing Clara Rinker as one of Davenport’s best antagonists. No spoilers here though!

Move Over Oberon, the Octo-Cat is Here

Outstanding story. The only problem I have with it is that it's too short. I checked, and unfortunately, the rest of the books in this series are around the same length. Please Melissa/Molly consider something at least twice as long (and this before I've even read the others)! Ann's narration is spot on. Her choice of voices for the various characters is excellent and her execution of them consistent. As you can imagine I am a great fan of the Iron Druid series (hence my reference to Oberon in the title). But don't misunderstand, this is not Atticus and Oberon, but something completely different. Try it, you'll like it!!!

The Blade Does Sweep!!!

Don’t understand why all the complaints about narration and narrator. This is a different perspective (Maud’s) so a different narrator makes sense to me. The story is great even though it’s missing one of the things that make an Innkeeper story, (the Inn, of course). That’s as close to a spoiler as I’m going to get. Great twist at the end. Can’t wait for the next one. Hint, Hint and Hint!!!

The narrator was disappointing

The title just about sums my review up. I got this book because it was one of my favorite SF novels many, many years ago and I’m pleased to report that it remains so. And it may be, that after listening to really good narrators I have become spoiled. And I don’t want to put anyone off getting this book as the narration isn’t bad, it’s just not as good as it could have been.

Bella comes into her own

This is the best book in the series so far. Ms Forrest writing has improved and, except for the obvious hole in the story, has done a great job with this one. No, I'm not going to discuss the hole in the story. Even the narration has improved. Get the book, you will enjoy it.

Terrible Narration/Narrator

The narrator was just bad. Several mispronounced words in a one hour program is unacceptable . I also have had the opportunity to hear this same story read by Luke Daniels and suggest you listen to that one if you want hear it done well.

Susan Eriksen, A Great Narrator For This Book - Not

Score as follows: 5 for the story, 2 for the narration, so overall a 3. I'm surprised that Roberts had 3 different narrators for the 3 novels. The first and second ones seemed to be Irish speakers while the 3rd, Eriksen, just as obviously, is not. The result was, again obviously, differences in pronunciation between the first 2 books and the 3rd. And, at least for me, that was quite distracting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Eriksen's narration was problematic. It was not. In fact it was every bit as good as any she has narrated for Robert's "In Death" series, of which I am a big fan. My opinion, for what it's worth, Roberts should have used an Irish speaker for the last book.

Same old, same old - Spoiler Alert!

It seems apparent that this series is building to a climatic confrontation between Kate and Roland. This is book 5 and I know that there are at least 10 books in the series. I'm not sure I can wade through another 5 books with the same plot twists to get there. Particularly when Kate doesn't seem able to learn from her past discoveries and issues and move on and that includes her relationship with the Beast Lord. I am growing particularly tired of that. So I think it's break time, at least for a while.
