Historia
Darby Thorne is a college student stranded by a blizzard at a highway rest stop in the middle of nowhere. She’s on the way home to see her sick mother. She’ll have to spend the night in the rest stop with four complete strangers. Then she stumbles across a little girl locked inside one of their parked cars. There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, no way out because of the snow, and she doesn’t know which one of the other travelers is the kidnapper.

Couldn't finish
Revisado: 02-16-22
It was suspenseful, and I continued reading only because I wanted the perp to be caught and punished, but I couldn't take any more___ the violence went on and on, and tortures were described in bloody detail. Also, so many parts of the story were not believable. The snow is described as, "waist deep," and "knee deep," but they were running in it. The temperature was described as way below freezing, but many characters, including a child, were outside for extended periods, and digging snow out from behind car tires with bare hands__ it made me unable to believe that the author had ever experienced really cold winter conditions. New snow was falling rapidly, yet it was described as having a "hard crust." The child's presence of mind after being sick and brutallly injured was not believable.

Interesting and suspenseful
Revisado: 08-23-21
Enjoyed the Native American setting and the variety of characters. There was a lot of action. The plot was fast moving.

Historia
Jack Havoc, jail-breaker and knife artist, is on the loose on the streets of London once again. In the faded squares of shabby houses, in the furtive alleys and darkened pubs, the word is out that the Tiger is back in town, more vicious and cunning than ever. It falls to Albert Campion to pit his wits against the killer and hunt him down through the city's November smog before it is too late.

Great characters.
Revisado: 06-15-21
The characters have depth and color, and these were brought alive by the narrator’s many accents and voices.

Historia
At the request of Her Majesty's government, private enquiry agent Cyrus Barker agrees to take on his least favorite kind of assignment - he's to provide security for a secret conference with the French government. But shortly after the parties land at the island, Lord Hargrave is killed by a sniper shot, and the French ambassador's head of security is found stabbed to death. The only means of egress from the island - a boat - has been sent away, and the means of signaling for help has been destroyed.

I enjoyed Barker’s accent.
Revisado: 09-23-20
Although many elements in the plot were incredibly improbable, I did enjoy it. I love the recurring characters in the Barker and Llewellyn novels. I enjoyed the narration, particularly Barker’s accent, but I do wish the narrator gave Llewellyn a welsh accent.

Comically phony accents. Great story.
Revisado: 06-29-20
The main narrator was excellent, but there were many other voices with ridiculous phony accents, which spoiled the performance.

Historia
Miss Elizabeth Mapp, magnificent grande dame and heiress, is always on the lookout lest her neighbors fall outside the bounds of perfect, exemplary manners. But her tightly controlled world is soon beset on all sides by interlopers, first in the disturbingly masculine form of two very different retired army officers, both of whom are anything but retiring in their conflicting aims upon her heart.

Always wonderful
Revisado: 08-05-19
I've read and listened to this delightful series of adventures about the residents of Tilling and Risholme many times, and I'm enchanted every time. I'm hoping that all six or seven of the Lucia books by E. F Benson are eventually available through Audible. I particularly enjoy this narrator's performance, which accurately captures the characters for me.
