Letting it sink in

I like learning the old stories. I’ve heard them before through other authors. As I am aging I want to be aware of my own thoughts and feelings about hags and crones. To see them as mysterious and wise will help me enter that sacred sisterhood when it is time. Or maybe I’ve already entered? Her story along with the history of cultural tales made it a modern read and easy to relate to our modern illnesses.

Holding my breath for more from Nestor

After reading and loving Breath, I downloaded Deep. I grew up on coastal shores and still reside on them. The idea of being on the water’s surface is welcoming to me. The idea of diving is not as familiar. But as I listened, I was diving deep with the facts, events and wonderings he mentions. Our origins, our present and future world with and without current species give me pause. I plan to relisten or maybe to take a dive into uncharted waters and go deep in new ways. James Nestor’s ability to tell a story and report on our world is definitely a dive I enjoy.
