CJ MacGenn spins a yarn of magic realism in her jewel of a book that offers a meditation on grief and recovery in a gown-up fairytale of sorts - entertaining, inspiring and instructive. Just like in life, healing laughter erupts alongside moments of sadness and grief.
Christin Ayotte skillfully brings a host of fleshed out characters to life - human and otherwise - with her sensitive, insightful, and often-hilarious reading.
