I’ve enjoyed Holly Gibney as a character since I met her in Mr. Mercedes. I went back and read every book and short story about her first before diving into Holly. This is a delicious story to savor. I recommend parfaits with whipped cream and strawberries.

This book made me think, rethink, and roll back ideas I’ve had and acquired over the years of being immersed in our white supremacist culture. It’s a book I will return to again and again. I especially appreciate the third category — anti-racist, for people who are more aware of their own racism and are actively working to combat it in themselves and their surroundings.

Glennon's story is so truthful and open. She doesn't gloss over the ugly and painful parts, and she talks about the others in her story with grace and respect. This book helped me find true things about my self and my story. She showed me God as love, not fear. Thank you, Glennon. You ministered God to me.
